Copelands is Belfast Central Mission’s flagship project, providing market leading care for Northern Ireland. It encompasses everything needed to create a genuine home from home where residents can enjoy a fulfilling life. Copelands comprises of six households, each with 10 residents. Each household has its own front door, kitchen and living area as well as access to a communal outdoor area. The home has been designed with the differing cognitive, social, and physical abilities of the residents in mind. Our aim is to provide the best possible care to frail older people, including those living with dementia. We promote the use of familiar and recognisable surroundings and activities to stimulate residents’ memories. Visual clues throughout the design help residents with recollection to avoid confusion and increased anxiety. Additionally, it creates opportunities for staff and residents to interact more easily in activities of daily living Your new role You'll support the management team with daily operations, managing and mentoring staff, and the provision of individual care to residents. You will ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and act as a liaison between staff, residents, and families, addressing concerns and facilitating effective communication.You'll be responsible for ensuring high quality care is being delivered whilst monitoring resource allocation, schedules, and upholding the care home's standards and policies. Trainee Chefs join the Defence Forces as General Service Recruits . During your initial twelve weeks of Recruit Training , you will develop the core military skills required of all Defence Forces personnel, including discipline, teamwork, fitness, and leadership. This is followed by a further twelve weeks of 2-3 Star training , where you continue to build your military knowledge and experience. On successful completion of this training, there may be a period of culinary on-the-job work experience before you progress to professional chef training in the Defence Forces School of Catering in McKee Barracks, Dublin. Here you will develop practical culinary skills and gain a QQI Level 5 Major Award, with opportunities for further recognised professional qualifications. You will learn a wide range of culinary skills from our team of highly experienced instructor staff, including the preparation of nutritious, high-quality meals for Defence Forces personnel. Whilst undergoing these three elements of training, in addition to full pay, you will also receive free meals and accommodation within the barracks. You will also have access to free medical care (dentist, pharmacy, physio etc.) and gym facilities. Defence Forces Chefs play an important role in supporting operational effectiveness by ensuring personnel are properly nourished during training, daily duties, and deployments. Chefs may serve in barracks and at sea throughout Ireland and can also support Defence Forces personnel on overseas missions. CORLANN –WEST REGION POST: LOCUM RELIEF STAFF NURSE ATHLONE/ROSCOMMON ADULT SERVICES (Athlone, Kilteevan, Roscommon Town) Post Ref: 96405 Location: Athlone/Roscommon Adult Services (Athlone, Kilteevan, Roscommon Town). Staff allocation could be either within residential/respite/day settings or in community services or in an individual’s own home. The appointee will initially commence working in one particular area of the Athlone/Roscommon Adult Services and this work location may change due to future service needs. Qualifications & Experience: Candidates must have - · A current Live Register Certificate from the NMBI (An Bord Altranais), RNID or RGN qualification is essential. · A full clean manual Driving Licence, which qualifies you to drive manual transmission vehicles on Irish Roads is an essential requirement. It may also be necessary for the appointee to obtain a Class D1 Driving Licence (if not already in possession of one). Assistance will be given towards this purpose of obtaining a class D1 licence. · Experience of working with people with an intellectual disability/autism/complex needs is desirable, however, induction and training will be provided. · Fluency in verbal and written English is an essential requirement of this post and proficiency in I.T. skills.
