CORLANN – WEST REGION POST OF 2 X PERMANENT FULL -TIME INSTRUCTOR/SUPERVISOR ORCHARD SERVICES, GORT, CO. GALWAY JOB REF: 96863 The Role: The successful candidates will be involved in the development of a day service provision in Gort, County Galway. The successful candidate will also be involved in the implementation of an educational, social, vocational, recreational and personal development programme for adults with an intellectual disability. In line with new directions and extended opening hours the successful candidates will also be responsible for providing family support, coordinating social groups and evening activities and providing one to one supports in the community as required. The successful candidates will also have responsibility in a key worker role for the people supported by the services to form links and interests and partnerships with other community groups. For this role the individual will work with adults with Autism with some complex needs. Therefore, the instructor will also be responsible to support individuals with all aspects of personal care required during the day. This includes supporting individuals with their meals, personal hygiene and other related aspects of physical well-being, to the extent required by the individual. Reporting/Responsible To: Team Leader/ Service Coordinator/Area Manager Works With: People supported by the services and families Multidisciplinary Team Team Leader /Service Coordinator / Area Manager Frontline staff GRETB Tutors Qualifications/Experience: · Candidates require a level 7 qualification relevant to the health sector. · Candidates must have a minimum of 1 years’ experience working in ID Services. It is an advantage to have had experience working in day services, designing and implementing programmes to enable them to carry out successfully the duties of the post together with an appreciation of the needs of persons with an intellectual disability. Experience in establishing links with the community and micro enterprises is also an advantage. · A full clean manual Irish Driver’s Licence is essential. · Fluency in verbal and written English is an essential requirement of this post. Working Hours: 78 hours a fortnight based on a 5-day week duty roster. The normal working hours will be Monday – Friday but may involve weekend work if required to meet the needs of the people we support or Personal Outcomes. Contracted hours of work are liable to change from 8am to 8pm over 7 days to meet the requirements of the programme. Corlann’s model of service is based on Personal Outcome Measures requiring employees to be flexible in their working hours to provide a quality service delivery for each individual. Annual Leave: 22 days per annum. Remuneration: Department of Health Consolidated Salary scale February 1st 2025 €35,932x 12 increments - €51,887 per annum. GALWAY JOB REF: 96862 A panel may be formed as a result of this process from which subsequent Permanent and Temporary Support Worker appointments within the Orchard Services may be made over the next 6 months. The Role: The Support Worker will report to the Team Leader and will fulfil a key role in providing a safe, secure environment where individuals will participate in community and leisure activities, make choices and enjoy a lifestyle that fulfils their potential and expectations with opportunities for new experiences. We wish to recruit innovative, creative, visionary people who will relish the opportunity to assist in achieving this vision. We are looking for individuals with experience working within the Health Care/Intellectual Disability sector. Candidates need to be flexible and adapt to the needs of particular individual’s they support on a daily basis. Reporting/Responsible To: Team Leader/Team Manager/Service Coordinator/Area Manager Qualifications: Candidates must have a good general education. A recognised qualification in the field of intellectual disability or a FETAC level 5 course is an advantage. A full clean manual Driving Licence, which qualifies you to drive manual transmission vehicles on Irish Roads is an essential requirement. It may also be necessary for the appointee to obtain a Class D1 Driving Licence (if not already in possession of one). Assistance will be given towards this purpose of obtaining a class D1 licence. Fluency in verbal and written English is an essential requirement of this post. Experience: Experience working with individuals with an intellectual disability and individuals with challenging behaviour is desirable. Full training will be provided. Previous experience of working in the health care sector is essential. Laimh and previous experience of working with people with autism, complex medical needs and mental health is an advantage. Skills: Candidates must be able to demonstrate flexibility, communication and team-working skills, together with an enthusiasm for the post. IT skills are essential. Working Hours: 78 hours per fortnight x 4 All positions are based on a 7-day duty roster, involving working sleepovers, split shifts, day and night duty, public holidays and weekend work. Corlann’s - West Region model of service is based on Personal Outcome Measures requiring employees to be flexible in their working hours to provide quality service delivery for each individual. Annual Leave: 22 days per annum. Remuneration: Department of Health Care Assistant (Disability Services) pay scale as per the consolidated salary scale dated 01st February 2026 - € 34,536 x 11 increments - € 47,152 (Max) pro rata per annum. Long Service Increment (LSI) €47,954 pro rata per annum is payable after 3 years on the maximum of the scale. Additional payments will be made for weekends, public holidays and night duty when worked.
