The Role NEPS’ Educational Psychologists are assigned to a local team of psychologists coordinated by a Senior Team Leading Psychologist. NEPS psychologists provide an educational psychological service for their assigned schools, generally in the catchment area of their assigned office, and may also work collaboratively with colleagues to meet NEPS national service priorities, and regional and team commitments. Within this context, each psychologist takes responsibility for their own day-to-day time and work management. Principal Duties and Responsibilities of the Role The Principal Duties and Responsibilities of the Role may include some or all of the following: • Ensuring the delivery of a high quality professional educational psychological service to their assigned schools, and to other schools, as appropriate, in accordance with the Regional Service Plan, the Business Plan of NEPS and the Statement of Strategy of the Department of Education and Youth. • Supporting national and regional Support and Development initiatives to build capacity/capability in assigned schools and more broadly in schools within the region. • Developing co-operative linkages with other educational services in the local team area and region. • Developing co-operative linkages with other relevant statutory and voluntary bodies in the local team area region. • Attending regular supervision as a core professional activity to support the delivery of an effective, ethical and high-quality educational psychological service. • Contributing to the development of the NEPS service through participation at team, regional and national meetings and participation in working groups. • Adhering to the Code of Professional Ethics of the Psychological Society of Ireland (2019), whether a member of that society or not. Under the Health & Social Care Professionals Act 2005 all psychologists working in NEPS will have to fulfil the requirements for statutory registration. • Fulfilling their functions in line with the policies, protocols and legislative obligations of the Department. • Engaging with continuing professional development (CPD), including a comprehensive induction programme and ongoing opportunities for national, regional and personal continuing professional development. NEPS psychologists are given the opportunity to review their development needs through the Department’s Performance Management and Development System (PMDS). • Supporting the training placements of Trainee Educational Psychologists in NEPS through the provision of professional supervision and guidance. Relief School Warden
SECTION 1: THE ROLE Each local authority can arrange with An Garda Síochána for School Traffic Wardens to patrol places where school children cross public roads. The school traffic warden’s role is to ensure that primary-school children cross public roads safely on their way to and from school. The Gardaí and School Traffic Wardens are the only officials in Ireland who have the authority to stop other vehicles on public roads. The law governing the appointment of School Traffic Wardens is the Road Traffic Act, 1961 (Section 96). School Traffic Wardens usually work in the mornings, at lunchtime, and in the evenings, when children are most likely to cross the road to go to or from school. School Traffic Wardens wear a distinctive uniform (a high-visibility coat and hat). They must also carry a distinctive sign (a white disc with a red border and the word “Stop” in the centre). By displaying this sign, the school traffic warden has the power to stop traffic to enable schoolchildren to cross the road in safety. Traffic must remain stopped as long as the warden displays the sign. SECTION 2: DUTIES The duties shall be such as may be assigned to the officer from time to time by the local authority. These duties may include: Reporting for duty promptly at the specified times and locations assigned, under the direction of the Supervisor. The Warden must operate strictly in accordance with the instructions for School Wardens (as per Garda/Cork County Council training) at all times. The person employed will be required to perform assigned duties exercising a duty of care, in the interest of safety of oneself, fellow employees, and the general public, at all times in compliance with Cork County Council’s Health and Safety Management System. Working in a safe manner, in full compliance with relevant safety legislation and construction regulations, will be the primary responsibility of all School Wardens. The school warden will use the statutory uniform and equipment provided for the safety of yourself, children, and all other members of the public, especially when stopping traffic on the public roadway. This requires carrying the official Stop sign at all times and ensuring that the uniform is kept in a clean, neat condition. Maintain control over children who are awaiting instructions to cross. If the Warden has any trouble in controlling, or encounters disobedience by children, they should inform the Principal of the school concerned. Any disobedience by traffic in general should be reported forthwith to An Garda Síochána. The Warden should never break up organised convoys, weddings, funerals, parades, or hold up fire appliances or ambulances for the purpose of allowing children to cross, but should wait for suitable opportunities when they have passed. Report any problems or difficulties to the Local Municipal District Roads & Engineering Offices. All accidents at the crossing point involving the Warden in the operation of duties must be reported immediately after the duty period by telephone to the Local Municipal District Roads & Engineering Offices. All relevant details must be recorded including car make/model, registration number, name of drivers/pedestrians involved, time and date of accident. The names/addresses of any witnesses must also be recorded and a written report submitted within 3 days. The Warden must not attempt to apportion blame to any person nor admit liability on his/her own part or the Council’s. Any changes made by the school to class times affecting duty periods must be notified to the Local Municipal District Roads & Engineering Offices. SECTION 3: ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA / QUALIFICATIONS Character Each candidate must be of good character. Health Each candidate must be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service. The Council reserves the right to retire a Warden who, in the opinion of the Council’s medical advisor, is medically unsuitable to discharge duties effectively due to age or infirmity. Education / Experience Each candidate must have a good general education of a sufficient standard to enable that person to understand fully and carry out the duties of the post. An ideal candidate will: A. Operate at all times at the designated crossing point. This crossing point cannot be altered, even temporarily, by any person/body other than Cork County Council (with Garda approval). B. Comply with safety policy and directives in force and must wear the uniform and carry the sign at all times while on duty. C. Ensure compliance with organisational policies, procedures, and legislation. D. Co-operate with the familiarisation/instruction of other employees where appropriate. E. Manage and maintain resources effectively and efficiently. Age Age restrictions shall only apply where the candidate is not classified as a new entrant within the meaning of the Public Services Superannuation Act, 2004. A candidate who is not classified as a new entrant must be under 70 years of age. SECTION 4: TENURE The employment is for the duration of the school year. The employment is part-time and pensionable. A panel may be formed to fill these positions. Sick leave does not apply to this part-time employment; however, depending on hours worked, a warden may be entitled to claim Disability Benefit from the Department of Social Welfare. The local authority shall require the person appointed to take up the position within a period of not more than one month. If they fail to take up the appointment within such period, or such longer period as the local authority may determine, the local authority shall not appoint them. SECTION 5: SALARY The wage for the post is: €19.65 basic per hour. Payment will not be made in respect of normal school holiday periods, i.e. summer, Christmas, or Easter. The wage shall be fully inclusive and may be adjusted from time to time. Holders of the office shall pay to the local authority any fees or monies payable or received by virtue of their office or required by law to be performed. The contract may be terminated at any time subject to normal legal requirements. SECTION 6: LOCATION OF POST The person appointed will provide cover, as required, for: The initial Relief School Warden position will be based in Midleton. However, any panel formed may be used to fill future vacancies for Relief School Warden East Cork MD that may arise during the lifetime of the panel, e.g. Aghada, Castlemartyr, Cloyne, Midleton, Youghal. Cork County Council reserves the right to assign you to any department, premises, or district in use by the Council, now or in the future. Changes in location of employment will not result in payment of disturbance money or compensation. The person appointed will be required to provide him/herself at his/her own expense with the necessary mode of travel to and from work. Holders of the office shall reside in the Municipal District in which their duties are to be performed or within a reasonable distance thereof.

The Role: The Asset Operations function forms the cornerstone of service delivery to customers, protecting the environment and meeting regulatory standards as well as managing the majority of operational expenditure. The Asset Operations function has responsibility for operational and maintenance strategy, policies, planning and standard operating procedures for Water and Wastewater operations both nationally and regionally, ensuring that value for money and customer service is delivered. The Wastewater O&M Management area is responsible for the national delivery of wastewater operational services through the operation, inspection, maintenance and repair of the wastewater network and treatment assets. Reporting to the Wastewater Treatment Operations Manager, the Wastewater Plant Operations Supervisor will be responsible for managing the provision of treatment services with respect to a specific plant or plants within a region. This includes the safe operation and maintenance of assets, leading and managing the performance of a team of operators, and in managing operational contractors that work on Uisce Éireann assets. They will provide operational insights to technical and service risk issues and collaborate with colleagues across the organization to ensure successful delivery of minor capital programmes and operational interventions. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Managing Plant Operations • Manage the day-to-day provision of treatment services with respect to a treatment plant or plants, ensuring that regulatory compliance and customer service standards are met. • Responsible for leading and managing the performance of a team of wastewater operations and maintenance staff and providing them with the necessary direction and skills. • Responsible for interacting with operations and maintenance staff to understand the needs of the asset and identify any potential wastewater treatment operations intervention requests. Responsible for submitting these requests to Treatment Planning, providing supplementary information as required. • Ensure data capture on issues that are relevant to contribute to the development of operational, maintenance and repair plans, liaising with Operations Planning as required to undertake periodical performance reviews, appraisals and make resulting recommendations. • Manage and organise the maintenance and repair of newly commissioned / upgraded assets as required by undertaking appropriate site training and supporting adequate resourcing. • Develop the skills of team members through provision of coaching and training in all aspects of the operation of relevant works. • Responsible for the coordination of the movement of all sludge arising from wastewater operational processes and activities, optimising sludge contracts effectively in conjunction with Operational Contract Management. • Ensure all information (including service risks) are accurately recorded and promptly reported for audit purposes and service risk escalations, using the technology systems provided. • Contribute to the development of task schedules and standard operating procedures for the provision of network services that maximise quality of output, efficiency and support the adoption of processes. • Responsible for monitoring and reporting KPIs for owned processes • Keep up to date with best practice, ensuring operations lessons are captured and improvement plans are kept up to date. • Support adherence of teams to allocated task schedules, standard operating procedures and the close out of work orders on completion of tasks. • Support the roll out and development of standard operating procedures, as required. • Provide technical oversight of third parties/contractors; Permits-to-work, Permits-to Enter. • Support Key Account Managers with any queries relating to issues affecting Key Accounts in their regional area, including site visits where required. • Support the Customer Contact Centre/Customer Contact Technical Lead with any escalated customer issues/queries including site visits as required. Budget Management: • Responsible for the management of costs associated with the wastewater team. • Co-ordinate the effective and efficient use of budgetary resources, through team meetings, productivity management, utilisation of vehicles, implementation of work task and monitoring of water network operations. Supporting Specialised Works • Oversee Specialised Works Scoping, Method-Statement Reviews • Support field teams with complex asset system integrity challenges, assisting in determining the cause and forecasting the impact of the challenge • Liaise and collaborate with Asset Planning to support the definition and management of the investment plan, specifically; understanding the asset base (performance & condition), conducting risk assessments, needs identification and intervention generation. • Support operational and strategic change initiatives in liaison with Operational Control & Support Teams. Health and Safety: • Ensure all health and safety inductions are completed and that all equipment is provided, appropriate to the job and necessary calibrations periodically. • Responsible for the implementation of the Construction Regulations including undertaking of duties assigned under the Regulations, as per Uisce Éireann policies, safety statements and plans. The Role: The Health and Safety area is responsible for ensuring & supporting compliance with company, national & European level health, safety, quality & environmental standards for Uisce Éireann. The team provides governance and specialist advice across the business areas and manages the maintenance and assurance of the occupational health and safety management systems to ensure appropriate H&S compliance with regulatory requirements. The Health and Safety Team support the operational areas of the business to deliver on their health and safety responsibilities. They support the implementation of the safety management systems and roll out tools including processes and procedures to support health and safety compliance. They support the development of a safety culture appropriate to our organisational values which facilitates us to deliver on our Work Safe Home Safe vision and beliefs. The team also provide governance and specialist health and safety advice across assigned business areas and are the visible presence of safety in the regions. The team work with the business and the broader health and safety team to monitor the implementation of safety management systems and investigate and respond appropriately to internal health and safety trends and developments and external requirements such as legislative changes and regulatory requirements and expectations. Reporting to the Health and Safety Technical Lead, the Health and Safety Advisor is responsible for providing comprehensive health and safety advice and support, within the region, to facilitate the systematic identification, evaluation, control and monitoring of risks; to contribute to the development and implementation of Health & Safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with our safety management system, legislation and strategic business objectives.
