Skills, competencies and/or knowledge Professional Knowledge/Experience Demonstrate • In-depth knowledge of New Directions policy for the provision of day services to adults with disabilities. • In-depth knowledge of the Interim Standards to support the delivery of New Directions. • Knowledge of the services provided in the health service and wider environment and in particular the service needs of persons requiring rehabilitation, vocational, training and day places. • An excellent overview of the Disability sector and proficient knowledge of the local service sector in which he or she will operate. • Knowledge of external environment and health service structures and systems. • A detailed knowledge and experience of working with relevant HSE and voluntary sector services and private sector disability services. • Knowledge and understanding of key HSE policies and procedures e.g. Human Resource policies and procedures, Health & Safety, Data Protection, Freedom of Information, National Financial Regulations etc. • Excellent MS Office skills to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint • Knowledge and experience of Database maintenance Critical Analysis, Problem Solving & Decision Making Demonstrate: • Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision making skills. • The ability to quickly grasp and understand complex issues and the impact on service delivery. • Considers the impact of decisions before taking action. • The ability to confidently explain the rationale behind decision when faced with opposition • Ability to make sound decisions with a well-reasoned rationale and to stand by these • Initiative in the resolution of complex issues. • A capacity to develop new proposals and put forward solutions to address problems in a timely manner.
