Profile of Craft Core Skills Carpentry & Joinery Construction The Trade of Carpentry & Joinery is very wide and varied, it encompasses most of the skills required by the Wood Trades. These skills required of the Carpenter & Joiner are not confined to those required to work in wood but include skills in the use of metals, plastics and fabrics. The Carpenter & Joiner is also required to work in a cross section of domains within the overall trade. The following are some examples: Joinery Shop: This section of the occupation requires the Carpenter & Joiner to engage in setting out, production and assembling items of joinery which include stairs, doors, windows and built-in furniture. Site Work: Site work is the construction of buildings or houses which require 1st fixing, formwork roofs and 2nd fixing. This section is split into two categories, constructing/civil engineering contracts. Maintenance: Maintenance work requires the Carpenter & Joiner to carry out a variety of tasks in general maintenance and upkeep of public and private buildings, e.g. shops and factories. There are other areas associated with the trade which include: renovating buildings, shopfitting, exhibition/display work. Ryan & Company is a Carrickmacross-based accountancy practice providing audit, accounts and tax services to owner-managed businesses, farmers and sole traders across Co. Monaghan. We are looking for a motivated individual to join our team as an Apprentice Accounting Technician through the ATI Apprenticeship Programme (QQI Level 6). The role is office-based and combines four days per week of hands-on practice experience with one day of college study at Monaghan Institute of Further Education. You will gain practical exposure across accounts preparation, VAT and tax returns, bookkeeping, and company secretarial matters from day one.
Heavy Vehicle Mechanics Apprentice

We are looking mechanically minded people to work on our fleet of trucks and trailers for general repairs. Purpose of Position: Reporting to Operations Manager, this position's primary responsibility is to deliver efficient and effective support services to persons living with dementia and their families. This will be achieved through the impactful, supportive, and delivery-focused leadership of front-line management within the service. With a strong focus on efficiency, systems and quality of care, the Daycare Manager will ensure consistently high standards are achieved across all facets of his/her responsibility. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Provide daycare and support services to the person living with dementia that focuses on increasing their self-esteem and provides a better quality of life for the person living with dementia and their carers. Respect the rights, dignity and confidentiality of all clients that attend the day care centre and support services and their carers/advocates. Build up a trusting relationship with clients and their carers so that they feel secure in the daycare environment. Provide stimulating and enjoyable activities for the clients in a relaxed and homely environment. Oversee the planning, development and delivery of a diverse range of services and activities tailored to the needs and interests of the clients. Provide care support and education to family carers. Supervise, coordinate and support the work of all staff assigned to the services. Lead the teams to ensure that we meet and/or exceed all targets whilst always focusing on best practice and flexibility to deliver to client needs and requirements. Ensure the effective management of all human resources (staff & volunteers); ensure clarity of roles, assignment of duties, adequate staff client ratios, arrangement of leave and payment of salaries etc. Ensure fair and consistent application of all ASI policies and procedures including the ASI Health and Safety system. Provide clear, concise, and timely information to team members. Support and develop the volunteer network and ensure new volunteers are supported and trained. PERSON SPECIFICATION: Knowledge/Experience: • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role / environment. • Degree or foreign equivalent (validated by NQAI) ideally in Nursing or Social Care or Social Studies or • A third level qualification in business, management or facility management. • Proven ability to provide excellent leadership of successful teams (staff & volunteers). • Experience of People management. • Excellent communication, time management and organizational skills. • Proven experience in service delivery and service development. • Demonstrated knowledge of the voluntary sector, older people issues and dementia. • An understanding of legislation relevant to the role e.g. Health and Safety, Employment legislation etc. • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook) & SharePoint. • Full clean driving licence.
