BROTHERS OF CHARITY SERVICES IRELAND – WEST REGION POST OF PERMANENT FULL-TIME STAFF NURSE/*ENHANCED NURSE CHILDREN’S SERVICES, GALWAY CITY & COUNTY JOB REF: 81164 A panel may be formed as a result of this process from which subsequent Staff Nurse/Enhanced Nurse appointments within the Children’s Services may be made over the next 6 months. Location: This post is primarily located in Crannog Children’s Respite Service. Crannog provides a respite service to children from 6 years of age up to 18 years of age who have a wide range of needs including those with Physical disability, complex medical needs, Autism and behavioural needs. There may also be a requirement to cover hours in the other Children’s Services including Crannmor Respite, Rosedale School and the Child Development Centres located in Galway City. Candidates will be required to be completely flexible in this position and will be required to work a variety of hours including day and night duty hours and sleep-ins as required. The Role: To support the implementation of children’s individualised developmental and educational programmes and work together with the multidisciplinary and staff teams in ensuring the maximum benefit of the programme for the children. To provide clinical nursing skills in supporting children with complex needs. To demonstrate and maintain the highest quality of nursing practice and apply his/ her skills to ensure the developmental, learning, physical, social, and emotional needs of the children in his/ her care are addressed at all times. Works With: - Children and families; - Staff Teams; - Multidisciplinary Staff. Qualifications/Experience: • A current Live Register Certificate from the NMBI (An Bord Altranais). A RNID qualification is highly desirable. • Candidates must have a minimum of six months experience of working with children with an Intellectual Disability. • A full clean manual Irish Driving Licence (Class B) is desirable for this post. • Fluency in verbal and written English is an essential requirement of this post. • Basic IT skills are also desirable. Remuneration: Department of Health salary scales as at 01/03/2025 apply: Staff Nurse - €36,919 x 11 increments - €53,340 per annum. Long Service Increment €54,928 per annum is granted after 3 years on the maximum of the scale. *Enhanced Nurse – € 43,872 x 7 increments - €55,093 per annum. A location allowance of €2,637 per annum (pro-rata for part-time) will also be paid when assigned to services where 75% of the persons supported have a diagnosis of severe/profound intellectual disability. Tenure: The post is permanent, full-time and pensionable. Probation: A probationary period of nine months from the date of appointment applies to the post. The Role: Minibus Driver/Porter Location: Children’s Services / Transport Services. Reporting To: Transport Manager/Children’s Sector Manager/Children Service Coordinator or delegate.
