Profile of Craft Plumbing Construction/Engineering Plumbing work involves the installation and maintenance of plumbing, heating and mechanical services on domestic, commercial and industrial projects, including houses, schools, hospitals, office blocks, apartment blocks, factories as well as pharmaceutical, chemical, food/drink processing facilities. These installations comprise of a wide range of services including pipefitting, welding, soldering on central heating systems, air handling systems, solar heating, hot and cold water supplies, sanitary appliances and sanitation systems, gas pipelines and appliances, compressed air, fire control, steam, chilled water systems and process pipework. At the end of the apprenticeship the Craftsperson will be able to demonstrate competence in the following: Core Skills • Use of plumbing tools and materials • Pipe fitting • Pipe bending • Inspection and testing of pipework • Fault diagnosis • Design/installation of central heating systems including: • solid fuel • gas • oil fired boilers • flues and ventilation • fuel storage and distribution • Design/installation of plumbing systems including: • mains water supply • water treatment • domestic and multi-storey hot and cold water supply • storage tanks, cylinders, calorifiers • sanitary appliances and discharge pipework and systems • Installation of: • gas appliances • fire fighting systems Specialist Skills • Installation of: • underfloor heating • solar heating • steam heating • compressed air systems • vacuum systems • biomass heating • ground source heat pump heating • greywater systems • Commissioning and servicing: • boosted cold water systems • unvented hot water systems • boilers • burners • gas appliances • pumps • Knowledge of: • heating controls • air handling units and air conditioning systems • industrial and process gases and liquids

Retail Technology Advisor
We are currently recruiting for a Retail Technology Advisor on a Temporary full-time basis. Roles and Responsibilities · Co-ordinate the support and growth of mission critical IT systems to our stores and retailers, involving a variety of in house and third-party suppliers and teams. · Deliver and manage projects in parallel through all phases including planning, analysis & design, execution, service transition and closure. · Control and management of third-party suppliers and vendors and their associated service delivery agreements. · Management and ownership of retail technology in the company operated stores division and a direct relationship with key stakeholders in the company operated space supporting Retail Technology and in store technologies, networks for these stores. · Identify and implement efficiencies to business processes using technical solutions. · Participate in projects throughout the initiation, definition, execution and close out phases of the project. · Oversee the transition of new processes from project delivery to operational support across the business. · Liaising with senior management from different functions to translate their needs into technical requirements. · Develop full-scale project and programme plans, facilitate the project scope, goals, tasks, resources and deliverables. · Participate in the delivery of strategic projects and scope of works alike. · Development of operational procedures and system specifications. · Develop and maintain comprehensive user documentation on all aspects of the core procedures and responsibilities. · Support our stores and retailers on support requests and queries and troubleshooting of the same. · Other projects as directed by management. · The role will involve nationwide travel and may include overnight stays. Job requirements Skills & Experience · At least 4+ years of experience in the retail technology/IT sector. · Understanding of Retail Technology, networking and overall IT. · Understanding of KPIs and SLAs with proven ability to adhere to them. · Understanding of FMCG grocery is a must · Experience with EPOS in independent retail market and cross technologies in a retailer ecosystem. · Ability to demonstrate a high level of ownership and project management. · Strong analytical skills, resolution management, organisational skills and excellent time keeping skills. · Strong verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills and to be able to report clearly back with updates to management. · Demonstrate an ability to work on own initiative, ability to prioritize own workload and work to exacting deadlines. · Innovative, authoritative, have the ability to communicate on all levels to people of all technical ability. · Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks and targets in a high-pressure environment and exceed set targets. · Flexibility and adaptable in the approach to customer/business needs. · Proactive and energetic in the work environment, seeking to get things done and at deal with a variety of tasks and projects. · Must have a full clean driver’s license. Carpentry and Joinery Apprentice
Profile of Craft Core Skills Carpentry & Joinery Construction The Trade of Carpentry & Joinery is very wide and varied, it encompasses most of the skills required by the Wood Trades. These skills required of the Carpenter & Joiner are not confined to those required to work in wood but include skills in the use of metals, plastics and fabrics. The Carpenter & Joiner is also required to work in a cross section of domains within the overall trade. The following are some examples: Joinery Shop: This section of the occupation requires the Carpenter & Joiner to engage in setting out, production and assembling items of joinery which include stairs, doors, windows and built-in furniture. Site Work: Site work is the construction of buildings or houses which require 1st fixing, formwork roofs and 2nd fixing. This section is split into two categories, constructing/civil engineering contracts. Maintenance: Maintenance work requires the Carpenter & Joiner to carry out a variety of tasks in general maintenance and upkeep of public and private buildings, e.g. shops and factories. There are other areas associated with the trade which include: renovating buildings, shopfitting, exhibition/display work. The role is office-based and combines four days per week of hands-on practice experience with one day of college study at Monaghan Institute of Further Education.
