The Addiction Services, covering the Midlands free confidential, drug, alcohol and treatment services across the region in line with The National Drug and Alcohol Strategy ‘Reducing Harm – Supporting Recovery 2017 – 2025’. The Addiction Teams are based in each of the two counties in the Louth Meath area The Service supports the provision of an integrated range of preventative, therapeutic and rehabilitation services to meet the diverse health and social care needs of our service users in an accountable, accessible and equitable manner The Service works with young people and adults who want help to deal with a drug or alcohol problem, and who want to build a healthier and happier life for themselves. The Over 18 Addiction Service provides OST (Opiate Substitution Treatment) services, Outreach to include Harm reduction, education including needle and syringe programme, overdose prevention training and provision of naloxone for people experiencing Opiate addiction, Information & supports. Out Addiction Homeless teams support those in addiction who are at risk of becoming homeless or are homeless to include those living in supported accommodation. We also provided Addiction counselling and education, /information and onward referral as required The Under 18 SUST (Substance use services for Teens) provides treatment/education and information for service users and families including Nurse Assessment, Addiction Counselling, treatment, support and onward referral as appropriate Our teams include GP’s, Nurses, Counsellors, Outreach team, Addiction Homeless team, Community Pharmacies and Admin staff. Teams are responsible for case management, assessing Service User needs, negotiating and delivering care plans and facilitating access for our target population within catchment areas. Our teams also work with other agencies to provide education and information within their organisation, attend workshops and provide group work as required The role will work on secondment from the Good Shepherd Centre. Therefore, the post holder will ensure that they work within the vision and values of the Centre.

CORLANN – WEST REGION CHILDREN’S DISABILITY NETWORK TEAM POST OF: PERMANENT FULL TIME SPEECH & LANGUAGE THERAPIST, SENIOR JOB REF: 97142 Location: Woodlands Campus, Dublin Rd. Galway Tenure: Permanent, Full time. Remuneration: Department of Health Speech and Language Therapist, Senior salary scale (01/02/2026) of € 64,551 x 8 increments – € 76,007 pro rata per annum. Purpose of the post: To provide a range of Speech and Language therapy supports to children from 0-18 years of age and their families who attend the Network Disability Team, within an interdisciplinary framework and family centred practice. Reporting Relationship: The post holder will report to the Children’s Disability Network Manager (CNDM) Qualifications: The successful candidate must be currently registered with CORU, the regulator for the Health and Social Care professions and eligible for membership of the Irish Association of Speech and Language Therapists (I.A.S.L.T.). Qualifications: i) Bachelor in Science in Clinical Speech and Language Studies, University of Dublin, Trinity College Dublin or, ii) Bachelor of Science (Speech and Language Therapy), University College Cork or, iii) Bachelor of Science (Speech and Language Therapy), National University of Ireland, Galway iv) Master of Science in Speech and Language Therapy (Professional Qualification), University of Limerick or v) A Speech & Language qualification approved for registration with CORU, equivalent to the above. A dysphagia qualification or equivalent as outlined in “Standards of Practice for Speech & Language Therapists on the Management of Feeding, Eating, Drinking and Swallowing Disorders (Dysphagia)” Irish Association of Speech & Language Therapists (IASLT) 2012 is essential for this post. A full clean Irish driving licence and use of your own car is an essential requirement. Fluency in verbal and written English an essential requirement of this post. Experience: • A minimum of three years post graduate clinical Speech and Language Therapy experience. • Clinical experience in the Independent management of feeding, eating, drinking and swallowing disorders is highly desirable. • A minimum of one year clinical experience in the management of the communication needs of children with complex disabilities. • Experience in clinical Speech & Language Therapy in a community setting • Training and / or experience in the use of TEACCH, Lámh and other forms of AAC an advantage. Working Hours: • 70 hours a fortnight. Contracted hours of work are liable to change between the hours of 8am – 8pm over seven days to meet the requirements of the services. A family centred approach to service delivery and the ongoing transformation of the health service will require employees to be flexible in their working hours to provide a quality service delivery for each individual. The Health Service is undergoing ongoing modernisation and therefore it is critical that a flexible attitude to changing environments and work requirements is held by the successful candidate.
