Product Owner / Technical Product Manager (with Delivery Management) Role Purpose: This is a hybrid Product Owner / Technical Product Manager role with delivery management responsibility for a small IT product engineering squad. The role is responsible for owning and delivering core operational product platforms, specifically Rota and Tracker, while leading cross-functional delivery across engineering, operations and business stakeholders. The position combines product ownership, backlog management, technical oversight and agile delivery leadership. It acts as the bridge between business stakeholders, operations teams and engineering, ensuring scalable, well-integrated solutions are delivered effectively and provide measurable business value. The role also provides day-to-day coordination, planning and delivery governance for a small product engineering squad, ensuring high-quality execution, predictable delivery and continuous improvement. Product Scope •Rota platform – shift orchestration, booking automation, fulfilment •Tracker platform – candidate management, onboarding, compliance workflows •Rota–Tracker integrations – APIs, data flows, reporting layer •Automation initiatives across onboarding, compliance and shift booking •Internal operational tooling and workflow optimisation Key Responsibilities Product Ownership & Strategy: •Own and drive the product roadmap across Rota, Tracker and integrations •Define and prioritise product backlog aligned to business and operational priorities •Translate stakeholder requirements into clear, technically viable specifications •Balance business value, operational impact, delivery capacity and technical debt in prioritisation •Deliver automation and system improvements to drive efficiency and scale •Ensure alignment across stakeholders including TA, Compliance, Finance and Operations Delivery Management: •Lead delivery for a small cross-functional engineering squad •Own sprint planning, backlog refinement, delivery tracking and release coordination •Manage delivery timelines, dependencies, risks and blockers across initiatives •Ensure predictable and high-quality delivery against roadmap commitments •Facilitate Agile ceremonies including stand-ups, sprint reviews and retrospectives •Monitor squad performance, delivery metrics and continuous improvement initiatives •Coordinate across engineering, QA, operations and business stakeholders to ensure successful implementation •Support resource planning and prioritisation across competing business demands •Drive accountability and clear ownership across delivery activities Technical Product Managment: •Work closely with engineering teams on architecture, integrations and system design •Define system workflows and data flows across Rota and Tracker •Own API and integration requirements between core systems •Support solution design and technical decision-making with engineering •Identify, manage and prioritise technical debt •Ensure system performance, scalability, resilience and data integrity •Contribute to operational and technical process improvements Stakeholder Management: •Act as the primary interface between business, operations and engineering •Engage stakeholders to gather, challenge and refine requirements •Provide clear updates on delivery progress, risks, dependencies and outcomes •Manage stakeholder expectations across timelines, priorities and scope •Ensure product and delivery decisions align to commercial and operational goals Key Deliverables: •Product roadmap aligned to business priorities •Prioritised and clearly defined backlog •Successful delivery of roadmap initiatives across Rota and Tracker •Reliable sprint and release delivery cadence •Measurable improvements in automation, utilisation and operational efficiency •Improved system integration, scalability and operational performance •Reduced manual processes and operational inefficiencies Key Skills & Experiece: •5–8+ years experience in Product Owner, Technical Product Manager or Delivery/Product roles •Strong Agile / Scrum delivery management experience •Experience leading or coordinating small engineering or product squads •Solid technical understanding including APIs, integrations, workflows and data models •Experience working on CRM, scheduling or operational platforms •Strong stakeholder management and communication skills •Ability to operate effectively across both business and technical environments •Strong organisational, prioritisation and delivery management capabilities •Experience balancing roadmap delivery with operational support and technical debt KPI's/Success Measures: •Delivery against roadmap commitments (time, scope, quality) •Sprint predictability and delivery performance •Increased automation across onboarding and shift booking •Improved utilisation of Rota and Tracker platforms •Reduction in manual processes and operational inefficiencies •System performance, scalability and data reliability •Stakeholder satisfaction and delivery confidence •Measurable business outcomes including fulfilment, efficiency and throughput So… What makes us different?
