Associate Lecturer In Environmental Sustainability
The College is seeking applications for an Associate Lecturer in Environmental Sustainability working 27 hours per week in our Strand Road campus for a 2 year fixed-term position. The post holder will provide quality teaching and learning opportunities within the specific areas outlined in the post in order to maximise the potential of every student and to undertake non-lecturing duties as appropriate. Continuation of employment beyond this date is subject to funding) The Service The Skills Connect project is a cross community/cross border initiative to support urban and rural communities to address the significant skills gaps, disparity in education attainment and employment outcomes for people with disabilities and long term health conditions. It aims to develop a strategy and action plan for sustained inclusive, labour-market responsive training options for people who fall outside traditional pathways. Skills Connect will deliver academy-based training in the following sectors: Hospitality and Tourism, Health and Social Care and the Green Economy through a curriculum of qualifications to reduce skills gaps and increase employability of participants. The project will work collaboratively with employers to build capacity to engage with a more diverse workforce. Skills Connect is supported by the European Union’s PEACEPLUS Programme, managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB). The project is led by the NOW Group in partnership with the Cedar Foundation (Cedar), Open College Network NI, Ulster University and Dundalk Institute of Technology. The Role As a Skills Trainer you will provide participants with the highest quality support to enable achievement of skills development and educational aspirations. The post holder will have a particular focus on the development, direct delivery, assessment and accreditation of accredited skills and pre-employment academies. This will include academy-based training in key sectors of Hospitality and Tourism, Health and Social Care and the Green Economy. The Skills Trainer will engage effectively with all stakeholders in a professional manner to ensure the optimum opportunities and outcomes can be achieved by the participants. IT Support Technician
IT Support Technician (Ref: IST26/01) As an IT Support Technician you will be joining one of the largest distributor of chilled foods throughout Ireland. You will be supporting a broad range of systems and technologies developing a skillset in all areas if IT. The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring systems are running smoothly and supported to the highest standards. Must be able to perform troubleshooting to resolve IT issues and ensure all support calls and requests are dealt with appropriately and in accordance with defined policies and procedures. This is a great opportunity to join us as we embark on the journey to improve, modernise and upscale existing systems by utilising industry leading Sales, Distribution and Logistics technologies. KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Serving as the first point of contact for IT support within the multi-site organisation. 2. Process support calls and promote use of Helpdesk. 3. Prioritising and managing several open tickets and mini projects at one time 4. Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel. 5. Supporting people whenever they encounter challenges with technical equipment and network devices. 6. Knowledge sharing to enable end users to understand how and why certain issues have evolved – especially when users can help themselves or avoid repeat support requests. 7. Investigating, diagnosing and solving software and hardware issues. 8. Document technical knowledge in the form of notes and manuals. 9. Ensure the organisation’s hardware and software is adequately maintained 10. Repairing equipment and replacing parts 11. Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers and scanners. 12. Planning and undertaking scheduled maintenance upgrades 13. Identify and suggest possible improvements on procedures. 14. Setting up accounts for staff, ensuring appropriate access rights are assigned to both systems, facilities and security systems. 15. Ensure users receive introductory system training while promoting best practice. 16. Assign and manage Office 365 user software licences 17. Ensure mobile communication sims and smartphones are managed, maintained and comply with security policies. 18. Maintain phone system, voicemail and cordless handsets. 19. Managing stocks of equipment, consumables and other supplies. 21. Create and maintain ODBC Reports. 22. Ensure the reliable transmission of EDI. 23.
