Senior Clinical Engineering Technician Purpose of the Role The existing CHI Medical Physics and Clinical Engineering departments will merge in the next two years to form the base for a new Healthcare Technology Department (HTD). This new department will provide the typical range of services associated with the practice of medical physics and clinical engineering, including financial stewardship of the medical equipment. However, this new department will also develop new services to support the digital transformation of CHI including integration of medical equipment into ICT systems and providing leadership to accelerate the adoption of innovations afforded by the new digital environment. The new HTD will provide technical and clinical support for the diverse and complex medical equipment in the different clinical areas of the new hospital, and across all the existing CHI sites. Clinical areas supported include, but are not limited to: theatres, intensive care units, cardiology, imaging, paediatric oncology, nephrology, neurology, ophthalmology, the central decontamination unit and laboratories. As the complexity, interconnectivity and interdependence of medical equipment continues to grow, HTD staff will work more closely in partnership with other departments within CHI, such as those supporting and overseeing ICT, Hospital Networks and Estates. Dietitian Staff Grade
Dietitian Staff Grade Purpose of the Role Clinical Duties · Nutritional assessment and dietetic intervention for patients referred from the General Paediatrics. · Provision of Nutrition and Dietetics services to other clinical areas/specialities supported by the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, when required. · Liaise with Consultants and other members of the multidisciplinary team, formula room and catering staff regarding the co-ordination of dietetic intervention. · Attend and participate in ward rounds and multidisciplinary team meetings to promote integrated patient care. · Consult with parents/guardians/clients regarding treatment, planning and nutrition education as appropriate. · Monitor and evaluate dietetic care plans and interventions. · Participate in the development of clinical protocols and guidelines that are reflective of evidence based practice. · Education, training and development in the specific clinical area and act as a resource for other members of staff and other health professionals. Administrative Duties · Be responsible for daily administration duties and overall caseload management for clinical area. · Record activity statistics, prepare reports and engage in service planning activities in consultation with the Dietitian Manager and senior staff. · Positively represent the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics through effective communication and engagement with other disciplines. Education Duties · Contribute to the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics education sessions. · Partake in career and personal development planning in collaboration with the Dietitian Manager. · Engage in professional supervision, mentoring and/ or tutoring to identify areas for skill development. · Maintain standards of professional knowledge through personal study and attendance at appropriate courses and conferences. · Participate and play a key role in the practice education of student Dietitians. Quality Improvement · Undertake quality improvement activities to determine the effectiveness of nutrition and dietetics for the assigned clinical area. · Participate in department quality improvement activities. Other · Abide by the code of ethics of the Irish Nutrition & Dietetic Institute (INDI)/CORU · The post holder will be expected to live CHI values and be child-centered, compassionate, progressive and will act with respect, excellence and integrity. Purpose of the Role To perform pulmonary function studies and sleep studies and to support the Respiratory teams and other teams with accurate test data in a professional manner, performing tests using a variety of skills, techniques and equipment. A complete understanding of all the techniques and equipment associated with these tests as well as an ability to make accurate measurements is required. The extent and speed of change in the delivery of health care is such that adaptability is essential in this position. The incumbent will be required to maintain and enhance their professional knowledge, skill and aptitudes necessary to respond to a changing environment. Environmental Health Officer
Location: The Grange Omagh or Townhall, Enniskillen with travel throughout the District Hours of work: 37 hours per week Immediate start available Salary: PO1; SCP 29 – 32; £38,626 - £41,511 per annum Main Purpose of Job: To undertake a range of responsibilities and duties to protect and improve the health and well being of those who live, work and visit the District by: • Enforcing all relevant statutory provisions which fall within the remit of the Environmental Health Service. • Addressing inequalities in health by working in partnership with a range of statutory and non statutory stakeholders. • Identifying needs within the business and residential community relating to Environmental Health matters; to devise, plan and participate in training and information campaigns to promote awareness of legislative requirements and health issues. Main Responsibilities: • To carry out inspections, audits and risk assessments of premises and activities on a proactive and reactive basis across the range of environmental health functions to achieve compliance with legislative requirements. • To devise and implement essential sampling programmes and surveys. Use professional judgement to identify and investigate additional sampling requirements. Interpret these results and ensure appropriate action is taken. • To investigate complaints across the range of environmental health functions and initiate appropriate actions including preparation and service of statutory notices, fixed penalties etc on proprietors, company secretaries of commercial and industrial operations and members of the public, under the appropriate legislation and where necessary prepare prosecution cases in accordance with council procedures. • To investigate any incidents of infectious disease, food poisoning, infestation, insanitary conditions, accidents in the workplace and pollution incidents and initiate appropriate action. • Act as a witness and provide evidence in criminal and civil courts, public enquiries, tribunals, planning enquiries and appeals. • Devise and deliver appropriate education programmes to businesses and the community. Participate in health improvement activities and work in partnership with internal and external stakeholders. • Maintain and update knowledge of professional, technical and legislative developments across environmental health functions and provide advice to the Head of Environmental Health and PEHOs. • Prepare documented evidence, compile reports, maintain appropriate records and carry out administrative tasks associated with the duties and responsibilities of the post.
