We are currently seeking a highly-motivated Senior Psychologist to join our teams in Co. Wicklow. Contract Type: Permanent and specified purpose posts. Contract Hours: Full and part time hours available. Salary Scale: €97,978 – €115,166 pro rata per annum. Salary scales are subject to LSI’s (Long Service Increments) This pay scale is subject to increases in 2026 in accordance with the recent WRC agreement towards enhanced pay adjustments in Section 39 organisations. Annual Leave Entitlement : 34 days per annum and proportionately less for less than 12 months service. Overview of the Post: To work as a senior member of the interdisciplinary team providing services to children and families within the region. The post holder will be responsible for the provision of a psychology service to an assigned caseload which may include children and their families on the community team and/or an assigned special school team. This will include assessment diagnostics and intervention, clinical and performance supervision and ongoing service delivery to children with a range of disabilities attending our service. Services are provided to children aged 0 – 18 years with physical, sensory, and/or learning disabilities, and/or developmental delay. The successful candidate will have Essential Criteria: AND · Applicants must have at least five years’ satisfactory post graduate experience in the area of professional psychology, no more than three years of which was spent in gaining the post-graduate professional qualification and no less than two years full-time spent in post qualification experience as a professional psychologist. Years in excess of the permitted three years for completion of the post-graduate training or time not worked will not be taken into consideration when assessing the five years’ experience requirement. AND · Applicants with a clinical or counselling psychology qualification must demonstrate that they have acquired in appropriate health settings, for the areas for which they wish to apply – Disability (Child and Adult), Child Psychology, Adult Psychology either at least 60 days or equivalent supervised clinical placements as part of the professional qualification or at least 60 days or equivalent post qualification supervised work experience as a psychologist. OR · Applicants with an educational psychology qualification must demonstrate that they have acquired in appropriate health settings for the areas for which they wish to apply - Child Disability, Child Psychology either at least 60 days or equivalent supervised clinical placements as part of the professional qualification or at least 60 days or equivalent post qualification supervised work experience as a psychologist. AND · Eligible to work in the State. · Note: Combinations of supervised clinical placement experience as part of the qualification and post qualification supervised work experience within a single care group area to give a total of 60 days are not acceptable. Desirable Criteria: · Previous experience in a senior post. · Experience of facilitating parent groups. · Experience of inter or trans-disciplinary team working. · Experience of working with children aged from birth to 18 years, with a range of disabilities, (including physical disability, autism, learning disability) and their families. · Specific experience in assessment and intervention with children with physical disabilities and/or specific learning difficulties. · Qualification and experience in completing ASD diagnostic assessments. · Experience and training in formal supervision processes.
