Cork University Hospital (CUH) is the largest single multi-speciality hospital in Ireland. It is the only Level 1 Trauma Hospital in Ireland. Regional specialities include neurosurgery, plastics and burns, cystic fibrosis and cardiac surgery. It is the centre in Cork City and county for trauma orthopaedics. The Physiotherapy Department provides physiotherapy care within Cork University Hospital, St. Finbarr’s Hospital Rehabilitation Unit and Cork University Maternity Hospital. The service also provides weekend and on-call services respiratory and orthopaedic services under specific criteria. The postholder will be required to participate in this. Flexibility will be required with regard to the working week as the post holder may be required to give classes/cover clinics in the evening and at weekends. Cork University Maternity (CUMH) Hospital opened in 2007 and involved the amalgamation of maternity services from Erinville Hospital, St. Finbarr’s Maternity Hospital, Bon Secours Maternity Unit and gynaecology services from Cork University Hospital. The CUMH physiotherapy service provides an in- and outpatient service to the specialties of obstetrics, gynaecology and neonataology in CUMH as well as Colorectal and Urology in CUH. Currently working in the service, there is a Deputy Manager, Clinical Specialists for Mesh complications, Clinical Specialist for Postnatal, Seniors Physiotherapists and Staff Grades. This post is primarily to support the provision of service to patients with pelvic floor dysfunction. Six Health Regions have been established within the HSE, on the basis of the geographical boundaries agreed by the Government in July 2019 and they will be operational from 2024. Each Health Region will be tasked with population specific planning resourcing and delivery of health and social care services for the needs of its unique population. This will result in improved accountability and governance in terms of finance and performance, while also bringing decision-making closer to the frontline. Health Regions will enable and empower staff to provide services that are: • Integrated, locally planned and delivered • Easier to access and navigate • Available closer to home Health Regions are geographically-based units with clearly defined populations. They align community and hospital services within specific areas. The HSE will retain a strong but leaner central organisation, with more service provision developed at a local level. The HSE South West health region will manage and deliver all public health and social care services in Cork and Kerry. HSE South West includes all hospital and community healthcare services in the region. This includes: • South / South West Hospital Group S/SWHG • Cork Kerry Community Healthcare CKCH • Midlands Louth Meath Community Health Organisation • Community Healthcare Organisation Dublin North City and County The Department of Population and Public Health is also now aligned with this health region Services in the South West health region: HSE Services working within this region include: • Acute Hospitals • Primary care services • Community services • Social care services • Health and social care professionals • Voluntary sector services South / South West Hospital Group and Cork Kerry Community Healthcare will become part of HSE South West health region from 3rd March 2025 and the transition to the new structures will be taking place throughout 2025. OVERALL ROLE OBJECTIVE: The post holder is responsible for carrying out all material handling, movement by lorry and inventory control activities required within a standard computerised warehouse environment servicing a manufacturing / distribution operation. JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: The post holder will: 1. To operate all material handling and control procedures as per SOPs. 2. All stock is transported correctly and properly protected against damage or deterioration. All stock must be located properly within locations. 6. The accurate maintenance of all the relevant paperwork and records employed throughout the transport operation. 7. To ensure that all Tachograph transactions for which the driver has responsibility for completing are carried out in a timely and accurate manner. 8. The competent use of material handling equipment. Where formal training is required for the operation of such equipment this will be provided by the Company. 9. To ensure that the vehicles are maintained to the highest possible standard of housekeeping. 10. The competent use and pre-shift checks of the Stores lorry and Van. 11. Abide with European Union (EU) rules on drivers' hours and working time QUALIFICATIONS CE Class Driving Licence (Class 1) EXPERIENCE General Transport Experience KEY SKILLS Effective written and oral communications skills.
