Planning Officer
Responsible to a Senior Planning Officer in the Planning Section for the provision of a high quality, efficient and effective Planning Service in the Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council area. To provide support to the Senior Planning Officer in meeting all statutory requirements and ensuring effective performance management in the area of work assigned, whilst supporting training and development for staff within the team to meet the needs of the business and all customers in accordance with best practice standards and other performance indicators. Responsible for the day to day management, leadership and development of Planning Assistants and any technical support staff in the area of work assigned through the provision of guidance and advice on relevant planning and technical issues.
ICT Project Officer
As a member of the ICT Team, the ICT Project Officer will be expected to contribute to the delivery of the ICT Business Plan by delivering key ICT projects that enhance the Council’s ICT service. The ICT Project Officer will be responsible for the successful delivery of cost effective and innovative ICT projects that will further enhance the ICT services across Council. The post holder will also provide a support service to Council ICT users and develop the Council’s ICT infrastructure.
Campus Services Administrator
JOB PURPOSE The post-holder will work under the direction and guidance of the Part time Course Coordinator/Campus Services Manager to ensure an efficient and effective student services and administrative support to the front line services of the College. This job description is intended to provide a guide to the general duties and responsibilities of the specified post and to set it in the context of the framework within which the post holder will operate. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES The post holder will form part of a front line team of administrators and will be expected to assist in the delivery of a range of front line services including; • Answering customer enquiries from students, staff and/or the general public. • Processing course applications and enquiries (according to College agreed processes). • Processing student enrolments (Rapid enrolment and full FESR data entry to QLS). • Taking student fees including examination fees – cash-ups, receipting and lodgements. • Participating in all aspects of the full-time and part-time admissions and enrolments process. • Dealing with student finance and related enquiries. • Bank lodgements. • Financial advice and support to students including: o EMA Administration o Discretionary awards o Higher Education o Bursaries o Scholarships • Student support referrals. • Student attendance updates on eRegisters. • Office administration including word-processing/typing letters, memos and reports, photocopying, post, fax and switchboard. • Arranging and servicing meetings as required, taking minutes and circulation of same. • Telephone and reception duties. • Dealing with incoming mail and preparation of outgoing mail. • Maintaining appropriate filing systems. • Receiving and handling of cash in accordance with audit requirements. GENERAL • Participate in the enrolment cover rota as appropriate. • Be required to undertake work outside normal working hours on occasions. • Provide reports, written and oral, as required. • Ensure that all documentation and authorisation procedures are adhered to. A minimum of two years’ (within the last five years’) relevant administrative experience in a busy modern office. A working knowledge of a range of software packages including Microsoft Office suite. Desirable Experience of administrative processes in the Further Education and/or Schools sector. OCR/RSA Stage 2 (Parts I & II) Word Processing or equivalent qualification e.g. ECDL. Other Essential Criteria The role may entail travel between sites and you are required to demonstrate how you are able to meet this requirement, e.g. whether you hold a full (i.e.) not provisional, current driving licence which enables you to drive in Northern Ireland, and a car for official business, or have access to a form of transport which will enable you to meet the requirements of the post.

Local Economic Partnership Officer
Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council’s award-winning Economic Development Team is continuing to grow with this exciting role of Local Economic Partnership Officer. The Local Economic Partnership is a new initiative funded as part of the Department for Economy Sub-Regional Economic Plan. The plan outlines how the Department will working with Invest NI, Councils and other key stakeholders to establish Local Economic Partnerships (LEPs) in each Council area. The Plan outlines how the department will work with Invest NI, Councils and other key stakeholders to establish Local Economic Partnerships. The post is funded by the Department for Economy and the post holder will be required to work with the existing Council team and external stakeholders to create improved economic prosperity at a local level. Working with the established LEP, the post holder will lead, plan and deliver an agreed programme of future economic development related interventions through the establishment and facilitation of the LEP. The LEP involves a range of stakeholders who through their knowledge and expertise will inform the design of interventions and initiatives which will seek to deliver the departmental and LEP objectives. The post holder will support Senior Council Staff by contributing to the project development processing, researching, securing and managing external funding and working co-operatively with partners internally and externally including Central government departments, other Councils, businesses, enterprise agencies, training organisations, local businesses and statutory and voluntary agencies. An important aspect of the role is monitoring, evaluating and reporting of the LEP and the delivery of its Action Plan.
