We are seeking an experienced candidate for a specified purpose post of Executive Assistant to join our team in the Department. The person appointed will have a proven record of administrative work to support a range of activities relating to the work of the Department. The role will involve a broad range of administrative duties in support of the Department’s activities. We are seeking a person with excellent organisational, administrative and IT skills, and extensive experience of working in a busy office environment. The candidate must be able to demonstrate an ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines on their own initiative. The person must be discreet, trustworthy and capable of dealing with confidential material. The successful applicant will work as part of an administration team with the Administrative Manager. While the candidate will be assigned to the social policy programmes in the first instance, they will be expected to collaborate with the Admin Team to provide cover across the Department. Principal Duties Administrative and other duties: Faculty and Research Institutes The Faculty of Social Science comprises a range of academic Departments including the Department of Applied Social Studies. The role of the Faculty is to co-ordinate the academic activities of individual departments, to oversee the strategic development of departments and to support interdepartmental programmes. The University has also developed a number of interdisciplinary institutes to support excellent research and to build research capacity across disciplines. Department The Department of Applied Social Studies has 15 academic staff and offers undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, based on its teaching and research strengths in Social Policy, Social Work and Community and Youth Work in a vibrant learning environment. The Department of Applied Social Studies has an established record for innovative, transformative professional and academic work reflecting its mission which is: “To promote human rights, social justice and equality, nationally and internationally through excellence and innovation in education, research and public engagement that contribute to the development of the social professions and applied social sciences.” Forty years ago, in the early 1980s, Maynooth University was the first university in Ireland to offer professional programmes in Community and Youth Work. Since then, the Department of Applied Social Studies has earned an unrivalled reputation for teaching, research, and development in these areas. Professional programmes are offered at both Bachelor and Masters levels. The Department also offers a professional Doctor of Social Science programme. More recently the Department has introduced a professionally approved postgraduate Masters programme in Social Work. In 2002 the Department established Social Policy as the core subject in a Bachelor of Social Science Degree programme, which has grown in popularity since. A Master of Social Science (Rights and Social Policy) programme was introduced in 2011. Staff in the Department supervise a growing number of PhD students in Social Policy and Applied Social Studies. Particular areas of interest currently include inequality and poverty; inequality and identities; state-civil society relations and public policy; policy analysis; social policy as it relates to community, youth, children and families, gender, age, sexuality, disability, race and ethnicity; criminal justice, drugs, housing, education, mental health, care, domestic violence, human trafficking, hate crime; comparative and European social policy; environment, sustainability and social justice. Tenure This is a full-time post for a specified purpose, anticipated to be 1 year in duration. Salary Executive Assistant (2025): €32,530 – €48,930 (13 points). Appointments will be made in accordance with public sector pay provisions. Hours of Work A 35-hour working week is in operation in respect of full-time positions (pro-rated for part-time positions). This can be reviewed or adjusted from time to time through national agreements. Location The place of work is the campus of Maynooth University, Maynooth, Co. Kildare.

The Warehouse Supervisor provides leadership and direct supervision to Warehouse Operators at the Logistics Centre in Limerick. Operating within a live, fast-paced environment, the Supervisor ensures that daily warehouse activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with production and service level targets. As the site continues to scale toward full operational capacity, the Warehouse Supervisor plays a key role in optimising workflows, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and developing the team to meet increasing volume and complexity. The Supervisor is the management representative on shift, responsible for maintaining operational control, resolving issues in real time, and ensuring consistent performance across all warehouse functions. Key Responsibilities: The Supervisor provides direct supervision to the Warehouse Operators at the Logistics Centre in the Limerick site. Initially, the Supervisor will be responsible for leading a team of Warehouse Operators and carrying out tasks associated with bringing the new facility to full operational capacity. The Supervisor will be responsible for directing activities within the Logistics Centre to support Production operations. Traffic/Litter Warden
THE POSITION The Council is seeking applications from suitably qualified candidates with relevant experience for the position of Traffic / Litter Warden, Bray Municipal District. It is proposed to form a panel of qualified candidates from which vacancies will be filled during the lifetime of the panel. While initial assignment will be at the Bray Municipal District, the successful candidate may be assigned to any of the Municipal Districts/Directorates under the Chief Executive’s control or to any premises/depot in use by the Council, now or in the future. The position is full-time, pensionable and permanent. The holder of the post will perform duties as may be assigned from time to time, on a county-wide remit, to ensure Wicklow County Council comply with all statutory obligations in Road Traffic Acts, Finance Acts and any regulations made thereunder. QUALIFICATIONS Character Candidates shall be of good character. Health Candidates shall be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service. Education, Experience, etc. The ideal candidate shall: Saturday work will be required on a regular basis. Staff will be rostered for Saturday work in accordance with business needs and will be given time in lieu which is to be used on the next Monday. At peak summer months there may be a requirement for Traffic/Litter Wardens to undertake Sunday attendance as required by management. On Public Holidays there may be a requirement for Traffic/Litter Wardens to undertake to be available as required by management. Garda Vetting Candidates may be subject to Garda Vetting. If at any stage during your contract, you cease to hold a valid work permit you must immediately advise Wicklow County Council and your employment will cease with immediate effect. Health For the purposes of satisfying the requirements as to health it will be necessary for successful candidates, before they are appointed, to undergo at their expense a medical examination by a qualified medical practitioner to be nominated by the local authority. On taking up appointment the expense of the medical examination will be refunded to candidates. Residence Holders of the office shall reside in the district in which their duties are to be performed or within a reasonable distance thereof. Annual Leave Annual leave entitlement will be 25 days per annum exclusive of public holidays. Retirement Age There is no mandatory retirement age for new entrants to the Public Service as defined in the Public Services Superannuation (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2004. Persons who are NOT new entrants to the Public Service as defined in the Public Services Superannuation (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2004 and the Public Service Superannuation (Age of Retirement) Act 2018, are subject to a compulsory retirement age of 70 years. With effect from 1st January 2013, persons who are pensionable under the terms of the Single Public Service Pension Scheme will have a minimum retirement age of 66 years initially rising in line with the State Pension age changes. Members of the Single Public Service Pension Scheme have a compulsory retirement age of 70 years. Superannuation Persons who become pensionable public servants on or after 1st January 2013 will become members of the Single Public Service Pension Scheme and, as such, will be required to pay contributions of 3% of pensionable remuneration and 3.5% of net pensionable remuneration (i.e. pensionable remuneration less twice the annual rate of social insurance old age contributory pension payable at the maximum rate to a person with no adult dependant or qualified children). Persons who become pensionable officers of a local authority who are liable to pay the Class A rate of PRSI contribution will be required in respect of their superannuation to contribute to the local authority at the rate of 1.5% of their pensionable remuneration plus 3.5% of the net pensionable remuneration (i.e. pensionable remuneration less twice the annual rate of social insurance old age contributory pension payable at the maximum rate to a person with no adult dependant or qualified children). Persons who become pensionable officers of a local authority who are liable to pay the Class D rate of PRSI contribution will be required in respect of their superannuation to contribute to the local authority at the rate of 5% of their pensionable remuneration. All persons who become pensionable officers of a local authority will be required in respect of the Local Government (Spouses and Children’s Contributory Pension) Scheme, to contribute to the local authority at the rate of 1.5% of their pensionable remuneration in accordance with the terms of the scheme.

Community Warden
The Role: Community Wardens are frontline service employees who are involved in the delivery of a wide range of key local authority services in the heart of communities. The Community Warden service has a Countywide remit which may involve the distribution of duties on a functional, electoral or geographic area basis. The distribution of duties in this way may be adjusted from time to time in the interests of flexibility and organisational efficiency. For the most part Community Wardens will be required to carry out duties as outlined below throughout the County, to include rotation between areas as required, with flexibility to move geographically across the County in response to requirements. The successful candidate will be required to work under the direction and supervision of the appropriate line manager and carry out duties as may from time to time be assigned to him/her in relation to his/her employment and as may be appropriate. The Qualifications: Character Each candidate shall be of good character. DUTIES OF BUS/TAXIESCORT • Supervision of children travelling on bus/taxi • Maintain a good working relationship with the driver of the bus/taxi. • Act as liaison between Principal and/or Class Teacher and parents when required i.e., conveyance of messages and letter to parents. • Observe confidentiality in all aspects of work. • Be aware of particular disabilities of children in the bus/taxi and be briefed by the Principal on how to deal with same, e.g., epilepsy etc. • Perform any other duties relevant to the position of escort which may be assigned by the Principal from time to time. • Unless under exceptional circumstances, the escort should never leave the bus/taxi. • The escorts position on the bus/taxi should be where maximum control of children is achieved i.e., at back of bus/taxi. • Report all concerns to the Principal and/or Class Teacher.
