Environmental Lab Technician

Job Description Undertaking testing of wastewaters, waters + purified water samples in line with procedures for a variety of tests. Your main responsibilities will include: · Undertaking day to day effective, accurate + efficient processing of workload in the lab + to perform tasks assigned by the senior staff. · Reports directly to the Environmental Manager and has responsibility for the upkeep of Lab Management system for ABP. · Report daily results to each site and advise them on how to proceed to ensure compliance · Adhering to regulations and lab policies regarding health and safety. · Maintain a clean and hygienic working environment. · Handling + testing samples for various water and environmental tests for a number of sites according to procedures, including attention to sample preparation, temperature control, storage + prevention of cross-contamination. · Maintaining accurate and systematic records of testing. · Input data and create Lab Certificates with Lab software · To have a sound knowledge of relevant documents within the Quality system. · Reporting any non-compliance to the Group Environmental Manager and initiate corrective actions · Maintain Lab Accreditation for the management system · Participate in the training programme, undergoing further training as required and participating in schemes to ensure on-going competence. · Additional duties as required.
