Purpose of the Role Deliver care in line with the five core concepts of the role set out in the Framework for the Establishment of Clinical Nurse Specialist Posts, 4th edition, National Council for the Professional Development of Nursing and Midwifery (NCNM) 2008, while adhering to the Code of Professional Conduct and Ethics for Registered Nurses and Registered Midwives (2025) as laid down by NMBI. Laurels Clinic Caseload : Children and young people under 14 years of age, where there is a concern or disclosure of acute sexual assault/abuse who attend for forensic medical examination; children & young people up to 16 years of age where there is a concern or disclosure of non-acute sexual assault/abuse who attend for medical examination.
