In line with Care Quality Commission guidelines, the successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced Access NI check. What does the Phlebotomist role involve? This role is responsible for ensuring customers have an excellent experience from the moment they enter our clinic, taking blood samples from both private and corporate clients. This is a varied role that may also include the following responsibilities: • Conduct comprehensive client appointments, including blood and urine sample collection, personal health measurements, and data entry into our Patient Information Systems (PIS). • Demonstrate sensitive communication to ensure client understanding and consent. • Maintain accurate records in PIS, uploading all relevant documentation. • Represent the company professionally at offsite events and appointments. • Engage in upselling and cross-selling at our private health clinic. • Proactively drive sales and exceed targets. • Complete company forms, specimen labelling, and laboratory test order forms accurately. • Demonstrate high IT literacy in order to manager various software systems and daily tasks. We support them to further their education (both internal and external to the Service) and to build their independent living skills if this is their choice. A major focus of the Support Worker role is to assist and support people who use the Service with development of their own Individual Plan and supporting them to achieve their own Personal Outcome goals. The Support Worker is also responsible for all aspects of personal care which includes supporting individuals with their meals, personal hygiene and other related aspects of physical well-being as required by the individual. Reporting/Responsible To: Team Leader/Senior Staff/Team Manager/Service Coordinator/Area Manager Qualifications/Experience/Skills: • Candidates must have a good general education. A recognised qualification appropriate to the Field of intellectual disability is an advantage. Portiuncula University Hospital provides 24/7 acute surgery, acute medicine, critical care, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology along with a 24/7 Emergency Department which had 30,283 attendances in 2023. The hospital serves the catchment areas of East Galway, Westmeath, North Tipperary, Roscommon and Offaly and has a natural referral pathway to the Midlands. Ballinasloe is the largest town in County Galway. The town has excellent junior and secondary schools and is close to the University of Galway and the Technology University of Shannon in Athlone. The town is served by public transport to the major centres. The area offers an abundance of sports, leisure and entertainment facilities. The town offers easy access to major regional centres of Galway City. The Department of Medcine aims to provide a safe consultant delivered patient centred service. The post holder will participate in a 1:8 on-call commitment at Portiuncula University Hospital.
