NAAS-- - Senior Physiotherapists WTE Stroke
Senior Physiotherapists in the following clinical areas: Stroke (1 WTE) / Respiratory (1 WTE) / Rehabilitation (0.5 WTE) Naas General Hospital (NGH) There is currently three permanent position available located in Physiotherapy Department, Naas General Hospital , Naas, Co Kildare in the following areas: 1 WTE Stroke: The post will provide physiotherapy services for stroke and traumatic brain injury (TBI), patients in the acute wards in NGH (and neurology OPD as service demands require). The successful staff member will work in collaboration with other staff within the neurology service, which would allow for staff rotation across in patient services and OPD services (as service demands require) 1 WTE Respiratory: This post will lead and coordinate the Physiotherapy services for the Respiratory Service in NGH. 0.5 WTE Rehabilitation: The post will provide physiotherapy services in the in patient general medicine & rehabilitation services. Senior Clinical/counselling Psychologist
Role: Senior Grade Clinical/Counselling Psychologist Location: The successful candidate will have the choice of working in Tullamore, Mullingar or Monasterevin Tenure: Permanent (Part-time, 0.5 WTE) – 35 hours per fortnight This is an exciting new service development within the Muiriosa Foundation. The successful candidate will become a key member of an evolving psychological services team led by the Principal Psychology Manager. We are establishing an interdisciplinary team to provide psychological supports to the Person Centred Wing. The person appointed will work as part of the psychology team and in close collaboration with other clinicians in providing psychological assessment, formulation and a range of interventions to supports to adults with intellectual disabilities and Autistic adults with high support needs. The Muiriosa Foundation promotes a human rights-based approach. Psychologists develop evidence-informed, and values led, interventions collaboratively with the person supported, following comprehensive assessment of each person’s strengths, needs and within the context of their environment. The successful candidate will be required to work flexible hours depending on the needs of the individuals supported and their circles of support. The office base is negotiable – Tullamore, Mullingar or Monasterevin. The main purpose of this role is to provide services for the integrated chronic disease programmes. This model of care supports people to live well within the community, with ready and equitable access to General Practitioner (GP) review, diagnostics, HSCP input and specialist opinion, as required. The focus is to provide diagnostics in a timely manner as close to home as possible. The post holder will provide pulmonary and sleep diagnostic services for the ECC Integrated Chronic Disease Management Programme for GP’s and Chronic Disease Ambulatory Care Hub/s and will be situated in Naas General Hospital in the first instance but will be required to provide clinical sessions in ambulatory care hubs. The Pulmonary and Sleep Diagnostics Service is a consultant led service supported by Clinical Nurse Specialists, Respiratory Physiologists and administrative supports. Under the general direction of duly authorised Officers, the Physiologist will undertake the duties appropriate to a Respiratory Physiologist, subject to the supervision of the Senior Respiratory Physiologist. The Physiologist should be familiar with the techniques and range of equipment used in current medical practice for the diagnosis, treatment and care of respiratory patients. The Physiologist may be required to work daytime flexible hours in order to deliver patient oriented service. Requirements in this area include the ability to handle sick patients, with sympathy and understanding, and at the same time encouraging maximum effort from them when carrying out pulmonary function tests. The presentation of test results is also the responsibility of the Physiologist. In addition, the holder of this post will be required to carry out and participate in a wide range of medical procedures. A complete understanding of all such procedures and an ability to make accurate measurements is essential. Eligibility Criteria 1. Statutory Registration, Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc. (a) Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition: (i) Possess the BSc in Clinical Measurement from Dublin Institute of Technology. Or (ii) Possess the BSc in Clinical Measurement from Technological University Dublin (TU Dublin). Or (iii) Possess an equivalent relevant scientific qualification (Level 8) as confirmed by the Irish Institute of Clinical Measurement Science (IICMS). Or (iv) (a) Possess the Certificate in Medical Physics and Physiological Measurement (MPPM) from Dublin Institute of Technology. Or (b) An equivalent scientific qualification as confirmed by the Irish Institute of Clinical Measurement Science awarded in or before 2005. (See Note 1*) And (b) Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years satisfactory relevant post qualification experience.
