Clinical Nurse Specialist

We are currently seeking a highly motivated Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team in Arklow, Co. Wicklow with two days per week outreach work in our Dublin services. Contract Type: Fixed term post for 2 years. Contract Hours: 37.5 hours per week (part time hours considered). Salary Scale: €54,209 – €64,461 pro rata per annum. Salary scales are subject to LSI’s (Long Service Increments). This pay scale is subject to increases in 2025 in accordance with the recent WRC agreement towards enhanced pay adjustments in Section 39 organisations Annual Leave Entitlement : 34 days per annum (pro-rated for part time hours). Overview of the Post: This specialist role will encompass a major clinical focus, which comprises of assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of care given to Service Owners and their families. The post holder will provide direct nursing care and support to Adult Day Services in the region in the areas of complex care and behaviours of concern. They will also provide clinical supervision to nursing staff across the region and at satellite sites as assigned, supporting up to date clinical practice, and develop and deliver bespoke and clinical training programmes as identified with service managers, assuring the competence of healthcare professionals and support staff. The successful candidate will have Essential Criteria: · A recognised validated University Degree or an equivalent qualification in General/RNID/ Paediatric Nursing/Clinical Nurse Specialist. · Must be registered with An Bord Altranais (NMBI). · Hold post graduate (level 9) nursing qualification. · Hold qualification in the area of Behaviour Support. · 2 years’ experience of working in the area of challenging behaviour. · Experience supporting staff to implement behaviour support plans. · At least 5 years post qualification experience working frontline with individuals with disabilities and medical needs. · Experience of facilitating training in some of the following areas: Medication Management, PEG feeding, MAPA training, Positive Behaviour Support, Epilepsy training, Train the Trainer Certified or equivalent certified Training qualification. · Broad knowledge of Enable Ireland and the complexity of working in a large organisation. · Demonstrate continuing professional development (CPD) relevant to their area of work. · Practitioners must maintain live annual registration on the register of NMBI for duration of employment. · Practitioners must confirm annual registration with NMBI to Enable Ireland. · Eligible to work in the State. This role has been created as a component of delivery of the integrated Low Back Pain Pathway. The integrated Low Back Pain (LBP) pathway is one of a number of modernised care pathways developed by the HSE. This pathway aims to identify patients who present with low back pain that need relevant and timely interventions in the most appropriate setting i.e. nearest to home. The pathway enables GPs to utilise a specialty specific referral form, and a stratified care approach, thus placing patients on the correct treatment pathway, depending on their specific needs and clinical presentation. The pathway, developed collaboratively by the NCP Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery and the NCP for Rheumatology, will deliver a standardised approach to the management of patients presenting with low back pain.
