Family And Survivors Liaison
The Office of the Director of Authorised Intervention, Tuam (ODAIT) is an independent public body under the auspices of the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth (DCEDIY). The mission of the ODAIT is to restore dignity in death and, where possible, an identity to those inappropriately buried between 1925 and 1961 at the site of the former Mother and Baby Institution in Tuam, Co. Galway. The ODAIT currently has a vacancy for a part-time Family and Survivors Liaison in Galway City. A panel will be formed from this competition to fill any future vacancies which may arise. The Family and Survivors Liaison will accompany family members and survivors through the process of the Tuam intervention. A key priority of the role will be to build relationships with the dispersed community of people they will be representing and be the main point of contact for family members, survivors and their advocates. The role will also involve assisting with the Identification Programme and establishing a consultative process concerning the final form of memorialisation.
