Architects

Working in a railway environment responsibilities include preparing and creating design concepts for new projects, alterations and redevelopments and to provide professional support to the Programme Manager, project managers and design teams as required.

Salary range: (commensurate with suitable qualifications and experience):€41k - €71k (plus relocation or non-resident package as applicable) 

Requirements

Essential

  • A third level qualification in Architecture
  • Registered with the RIAI and able to undertake the role of Assigned Certifier
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience working in an Architectural Design office
  • A good working knowledge of AutoCAD and or Microstation including 3D modelling and Photoshop
  • A good working knowledge of Building Regulations, Health and Safety Regulations, Disability, Accessibility and Planning laws

Architectural Technicians

Working in a railway environment, you will provide professional support to the Programme Manager for the design and management of construction projects.

Salary range: (commensurate with suitable qualifications and experience):€42k - €59k (plus relocation non-resident package as applicable)

Essential

  • A third level qualification in architecture or equivalent.

Permanent Way Designers

Assisting the lead Permanent Way Designer and Project Managers with the delivery of Railway projects, including DART Expansion. This includes producing permanent way infrastructure designs in accordance with relevant technical and safety standards, production of associated drawings, stage planning of implementation designs, technical and safety approval of permanent way designs and provision of professional support in terms of design and implementation of projects undertaken by the Programme Manager(s).

  • An Engineering, Construction or related discipline degree
  • Minimum of 5 years railway infrastructure project design experience in relevant engineering environment

Programme Managers

Programme managers are required for the management of the following work packages under the DART Expansion Programme:

  • Maynooth line and City Centre Enhancement
  • Kildare Line
  • Northern and South Eastern Line

The DART Expansion programme is a series of projects that will create a full integrated metropolitan area DART network for Dublin expanding the heavy rail electrified commuter network from the existing ca. 50 km to ca. 150 km.

The role involves managing project managers and project teams to deliver these work packages as well as interfacing with multidisciplinary design and construction teams which include electrification, resignalling, infrastructural enhancements, civils and trackworks, fleet depot and structural works.

  • Working knowledge of occupational safety issues

  • Knowledge and experience in Audit processes

Desirable:

  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Iarnród Éireann operational rules and regulations and instructions
  • Experienced accident or incident investigator
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Company Standards, Departmental Standards and Railway Standards

Site Supervisors or Resident Engineers

Working in a railway environment to supervise construction works carried out on site and to ensure that the works are carried out in accordance with the project specifications and drawings. Ensure that all construction activities are carried out in accordance with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013. Ensure that all construction activities are carried out in accordance with the Iarnród Éireann safety policies, procedures and rules.

Salary range: (commensurate with suitable qualifications and experience):€41k - €71k (plus relocation or non-resident package as applicable)

Requirements

Essential:

  • A third level qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • A minimum of seven years’ post qualification experience
  • A minimum three years’ working in contract administration and site supervision
  • Applications also considered where a minimum of 10 years’ experience as a craftsperson or technician or clerk of works in construction or civil engineering can be demonstrated
  • A good working knowledge of Public Works Contracts
  • Full Drivers Licence
