Couple wanted to manage private island in the Bahamas - €100,000 per year

A high net worth family who are based between Naples, Florida, USA and the Bahamas are now looking for an experienced domestic couple to work for their family homes. At least one of you must hold a driving licence and you both must have the legal right to work in the USA.

Family Background

A high net worth family of four, with two grown children (who still live at home), they are based between Naples, Florida and their private island in the Bahamas. In Florida, the large country estate consists of three houses, with nine bathrooms. The Bahamas estate consists of four houses with four bedrooms in each home. The family employ grounds maintenance, gardeners, pool staff etc, but are now looking for an experienced domestic couple to become long-term team members to help manage and care for their homes and travel with the family.

Duties

You can split the duties as you wish. You should have initiative and strong self-management skill. The family do not wish to micro-manage and want to have a positive can-do attitude, self-confident, discreet, professional with excellent manners. You should be very well presented. A keen eye for minute detail and a real love for service and care of your professional duties.

You should be confident with all aspects of housekeeping and be able to clean and care for the home to a high standard, with great attention to detail. You will be responsible for the daily and deep cleaning of the household and ensure it is always tidy and presentable. Making beds, cleaning bathrooms and all areas of the house. You will also be responsible for laundry, ironing, and ensuring that the home is generally well presented and cared for. Attention to detail is extremely important, and you should enjoy working to high standards as requested by the principals.

You should be skilled in household management and maintenance, helping with upkeep of the buildings and working with the other contractors. You should be organized and if you enjoy cooking this is a bonus. One of you may have to perform driving duties such as running errands or picking up guests from the airport etc. Occasionally one of you may be tasked to attend the other property on their own, but typically you will both be in the same residence together.

You should be discreet and well mannered, and the family are friendly and relaxed, but still like their home to be presented to the highest degree. You should be able to manage guests, perform front of house duties, and be able to manage the household from a day-to-day perspective.

The family you will work for, are high net worth, however they are easy-going and relaxed. You should be able to match this temperament, whilst still getting things done, and also blending into the background whenever required. You should be warm, lovely and discreet with a calm personality and energy, with excellent common sense and initiative to get the duties done each day. Flexibility and resilience to get the job done is key to this role. You should be happy to travel as part of your role between Florida, USA and the Bahamas, and indeed to other locations around the world if required.

Location/Accommodation

The main family home is in Naples, Florida, USA and their second home is on a private island in the Bahamas, Caribbean. Currently (due to COVID) the family spend 80% of their time in the Bahamas, however pre-COVID, the time was split more regularly between the two properties. You will be provided your own private accommodation in each property you live and work in. 

Days/Hours

• 5 days per week, Monday to Friday
• 8am - 5pm
• With flexibility to work occasional weekends or evenings when agreed in advance but this would be considered overtime and would be paid in addition.

Languages

You must speak a good level of English to communicate with the family.

Special Skills

You must be highly organised and have previously worked in private family settings. You should be looking for a long-term role. At least one of you must hold a full driving licence. You must both have the full legal right to work in the USA and can travel in and out of the country easily.
