Supermac's expansion to create 300 jobs

Expansion at Supermac's and at founder Pat McDonagh's separate hotel business is set to add 300 jobs across the country.

Supermac's three new outlets in Wexford, Waterford and Kinnegad, Co Westmeath, are expected to add 200 new jobs. The McDonagh family's growing hotel group is on course to deliver a further 100 jobs.

Construction has already begun in Kinnegad and building is due to begin in Wexford, the first Supermac's in the county, and in Waterford.

Four other outlets in the pipeline - in Letterkenny, Longford, Ennis and Portlaoise - are currently awaiting planning permission.

Meanwhile, the SÓ Hotels Groups, owned by Pat and Una McDonagh, said it will add 100 jobs through the refurbishment of the Athlone Springs Hotel, the Castle Oaks House Hotel in Co Limerick and the Killeshin Hotel in Portlaoise.

Supermac's now has 116 outlets in Ireland and the SÓ Hotels Group also includes Lough Rea Hotel and Spa, Castletroy Park Hotel and Charleville Park Hotel.
