Vitalograph Announces €10m Expansion & 200 New Jobs

Great news for Clare & Limerick and surrounding areas, Vitalograph is moving some of its manufacturing from Asia to Ireland following a €10m investment in the construction of two new sites. They're already looking to fill roles across data analysis, site support services, software engineering and QA and IT support.

Vitalograph is investing €10m to open two new sites in Ennis, Co Clare and Limerick City. It specialises in the manufacturing of respiratory diagnostic devices and conducts global clinical trials for pharmaceutical companies.

One of the new sites will be located in Clare Technology Park in Ennis while the other will be at Limerick City’s Engine Innovate Building.

The company has had an R&D, engineering and manufacturing plant in Ennis since 1974. It is also making a significant investment in its Ennis facility as it plans to transfer the production of its products with a shorter shelf life from Asia to Ireland.

In a move which is the reverse of was seen in recent years, the company is bringing the production of its bacterial viral filters from Asia to Ireland to stabilise its supply line and reduce its overall production carbon footprint.

Frank Keane, the company's CEO, said Vitalograph continues to embrace new opportunities to improve patient lives.

He said the company has become an important catalyst behind the efficacy of the respiratory therapies being developed by the world's leading pharmaceutical companies.

The €10 million investment will create 200 new jobs by 2024.

Vitalograph’s CEO, Frank Keane, says their expansion gives them “an opportunity to leverage the diverse talent pool in the Midwest region”.
