The Opportunity: Head of People and Engagement Permanent, 35-hour week Monday to Friday Location: CRC, Clontarf The purpose of this role is to lead the strategy, operational planning and managing, of the Human Resources operations, activities, programmes, and employees. This will be achieved through alignment of processes that will improve the employee experience through the HR lifecycle while maximising technology and systems enablement. As a key member of the senior leadership team the Head of People & Engagement will demonstrate a professional and engaging style to facilitate effective communications and relationships with colleagues across the organisation. The position requires a collaborative and supportive approach to the development of services and processes, embracing continuous quality improvement and the implementation of changes necessary to achieve organisational objectives and alignment. With the launch of our strategy in 2022, changes are required in the HR function to support the delivery of the strategy and this new role is a critical component to support that change. Senior Psychologist In Psycho-oncology WTE
The post holder will be expected to work within the National Paediatric Psycho-Oncology Service within the National Children Cancer Service (Malignant Haematology/Oncology) at CHI Crumlin providing a service to children and adolescents with cancer and their families. The service is comprised of a Principal Specialist Clinical Psychologist, Principal Clinical Neuropsychologists and senior and basic grade psychologists. The service is expanding and we look forward to have new members joining us in the development of the National Paediatric Psycho-Oncology Service in CHI, Crumlin. The post holder will be expected to acquire a thorough understanding of Paediatric Psycho-Oncology. The post holder will be expected to work within the National Paediatric Psycho-Oncology Service within the National Children Cancer Service (Malignant Haematology/Oncology) at CHI Crumlin providing a service to children and adolescents with cancer and their families. The post holder will work directly with children and adolescents with cancer (Malignant Haematology and Oncology). The main part of this work will be within Oncology and Neuro-oncology. Many patients will be attending long term from infancy to adolescence and the post holder will need to be able to support children across the life span, focusing on supporting both patients and families through cancer diagnosis and treatment (including end of treatment, relapse, palliation and end of life). A key role of the post holder will be to ensure that psychological factors are taken into account in the children’s and adolescents’ medical assessment and treatment. Children and adolescents will be seen on both an in and out-patient basis and every attempt is made to maximise their time out of hospital. Both individual and group work, where appropriate, is encouraged. The majority of the work will be inpatient. The successful candidate will work closely and collaboratively with the National Paediatric Psycho-Oncology Service Clinical Lead and the medical consultants in the NCCS to develop the National Paediatric Psycho-Oncology Service. Attendance at weekly MDT, Psychosocial team meetings and ward rounds is required. The successful candidate will become a member of the Psychology Department and will be expected to contribute to the overall running and development of the department and to attend weekly Paediatric Psychology meetings. International Multicentre Research and Clinical Trials in paediatric psycho-oncology are an essential part of this role. Essential Criteria: · Hold a recognised University degree or diploma obtained with first or second class honours in which psychology was taken as a major subject and honours obtained in that subject or hold a recognised qualification equivalent to above. And · Hold a relevant post-graduate professional qualification in Psychology recognised by the Psychological Society of Ireland. Or · Hold a postgraduate professional psychology qualification validated by the Department of Health and Children.
