Senior Occupational Therapist – Part-time, Specified Purpose Responsibilities: · Take responsibility for the development, service delivery and ongoing quality assurance of the Occupational Therapy services in their designated area. · To review and evaluate the Occupational Therapy Services within their designated area regularly to identify changing needs and to respond accordingly with opportunities to improve services. · To participate in the multidisciplinary team, communicating and working in co-operation with other disciplines and attend case conferences and Team meetings as necessary. · To carry an assigned caseload and carryout individual Occupational Therapy assessments as appropriate and develop treatment &intervention programs accordingly. To be responsible for the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of such programs · To actively engage in the delivery and evaluation of The Occupational Therapy Wellness & Recovery Group Program and any other group programs as are deemed appropriate. · To ensure that professional Occupational Therapy standards are maintained. · To participate in Performance Development and Review on an annual basis and participate in regular clinical supervision with the Head of Department. · To direct and supervise Basic Grade Occupational Therapists/Instructors and Occupational Therapy students as appropriate, carrying out probation and performance reviews as appropriate. The Technical Writer will play a key role in producing, editing, and maintaining high-quality documentation that supports institutional policies, quality assurance (QA) frameworks, and operational procedures. They will ensure that all documentation meets institutional and regulatory quality assurance standards and is managed through effective revision control. This role also includes providing secretarial and administrative support to key academic governance bodies such as Academic Board and its subcommittees. Principal Duties Policy and Procedure Development • Draft, revise and maintain institutional policies, procedures and guidelines in line with Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) standards and institutional QA frameworks. • Ensure all policy documentation is clear, accurate, consistent and approved through formal governance structures. • Maintain a central repository of policy documents and ensure appropriate review and publication cycles. Quality Assurance and Compliance • Support the Quality Directors and related departments in documenting QA procedures, audit findings and continuous improvement processes. • Assist in preparing institutional documentation for internal and external quality reviews, audits and accreditations. • Contribute to developing templates, style guides and quality checklists for documentation consistency. Revision Control and Documentation Management • Manage document lifecycle processes, including drafting, review, approval, publication and archival. • Maintain version control and metadata tracking in compliance with institutional document management policies. • Implement document naming conventions and ensure appropriate access permissions. Governance and Committee Support • Provide secretarial and administrative support to Academic Board and its subcommittees as required. • Prepare agendas, circulate documentation, record minutes and monitor follow-up actions. • Liaise with Chairs, Deans, and Academic staff to coordinate submissions, reports and meeting documentation. Qualifications & Experience. The Ideal Candidate will have: • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing or related discipline. • 3-5 years’ experience in technical writing or documentation role, ideally within Higher Education. • Familiarity with Irish Higher Education quality frameworks (NFQ, QQI Core Statutory QA Guidelines) • Demonstrated experience writing or managing institutional policies, QA Documentation, or procedural manuals. • Understanding of data governance and accessibility. • Strong knowledge of document control and revision management systems. • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills with attention to detail, accuracy and consistency. • High level of IT proficiency including MS Office, Adobe Acrobat and online collaborative/document management platforms. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working across academic and administrative functions. • Ability to manage time, workload and other resources effectively.
