It empowers its students to shape the contemporary world through critical practice, studio-based learning, research and engagement The School of Design within the College comprises of 3 departments: ● Design for Body and Environment (BA Fashion Design, BA Jewellery & Objects, BA Textile & Surface Design and MA Circular by Design). ● Product Design (BA and MA Product Design, BA and MA Interaction Design, MSc Medical Device Design and MA Service Design) ● Communication Design (BA and MA Graphic Design, BA and MA Illustration, BA Moving Image Design) The aim of the School of Design is to create a design culture engaged in ongoing debate on all aspects of design; a culture that thrives on new ideas, new ways of doing things and new areas of exploration. We encourage our students to experiment and take risks in order to carve new aesthetic paths and make technical innovations within, and beyond, their design discipline. The programme is driven by design briefs and producing design outcomes for fabrics and other materials and surfaces. NCAD offers a range of facilities for realising textile design work including digital print, screen print, transfer print, constructed textiles, loom-weaving, knit and laser cutting, which enable our graduates to fully develop their textile and surface designs. This post will be an integral part of the academic staff within the discipline, department, School and College. Lecturing staff actively contribute to the learning & teaching, research & knowledge transfer and internationalisation agendas of the College. Principal Duties and Responsibilities · Actively contribute to the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes within the Department of Design for Body & Environment and across the School of Design, in particular the BA in Textile & Surface Design, including module and programme development and design, coordination, delivery, examination and assessment, quality assurance and enhancement and associated administration. · Develop and implement new course curriculum within the department, and in particular for the Printed Textiles specialism, including the co-ordination of course content, delivery and assessment. · Enhance and promote the reputation of our academic provision by liaising and co-operating with other national and international institutions. · Ensure the curriculum content of our programmes reflect and meet with the requirements of related industries, including regularly reviewing and adapting course content and structure. · Engage in the student recruitment process including interviews, selection, assessments and examination procedures as required to ensure appropriate number and level of student cohort. · Undertake and publish high quality research and scholarship in your field of expertise/specialist interest · Engage with industry and research partners, leading commercialisation projects and knowledge exchange activities · Supervise post graduate research students · Contribute to the general administration of the Department · Contribute to the academic life of the Department, School and College · Contribute to the wider educational community · Undertake such other duties as may be assigned by the Appropriate Officer from time to time. · Engage in continuing professional development in related subject areas by research, creative practice and other appropriate means of engagement in the sector. · Proactively engage with developments within the field including changing and developing technology and techniques. · Contribute to the academic life of the Department, School and College and wider educational community. OVERALL ROLE OBJECTIVE: The objective of the role is coordinating and supporting the end-to-end procurement process by ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services, This includes activities such as, managing supplier communications, resolving supply chain issues, and maintaining accurate procurement records to support operational efficiency and compliance with Almac Diagnostic Services procurement policies JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: The post holder will be responsible for: 1. Co-ordinate and support with the on-boarding and qualification of new suppliers and the re-evaluation of existing suppliers to ensure compliance with Almac Diagnostic Services procurement policies. Including maintaining supplier records through the use of Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP system. 2. Request and gather supplier evaluation information for suppliers undergoing initial qualification or re-evaluation. 3. Management and monitoring of the Approved supplier/manufacturer List. 4. Maintain and create supplier/manufacturer records on D365. 5. Evaluate, assess suitability and justify the use of a supplier based on: Product Capacity, Risk and Performance. 6. Compile and approve the Supplier Evaluation Form (SEF) for a supplier undergoing initial qualification or re-evaluation. 7. Ensure the timely delivery of goods and services by addressing supply chain issues as required maintaining clear communication with suppliers and collaborating with internal stakeholders. 8. Use and maintenance of the ERP system, namely Microsoft D365 to all support all procurement related activities, including maintaining supplier and product records, pricing agreement etc. 9.
