OASIS HOUSE WOMEN’S REFUGE AND SERVICES Oasis House Women’s Refuge is a long-established domestic abuse service based in Waterford City and works throughout the city and county. Oasis provides a service sensitive to the needs of women and women with their children experiencing domestic violence. Oasis House provides a number of services, including crisis accommodation, 24/7 Helpline, Drop-in service, Child & Family Support service, Outreach, Court accompaniment, as well as programmes for women and children. Due to on-going expansion and development of the service, Oasis House is currently recruiting for dedicated Social Care Workers who will play a key-role in the delivery of a quality care for the following position: 1. Refuge/Project Worker x 2 posts Full-time Permanent Contract 2. Refuge/Project Worker x 1 post Part-time Permanent Contract Reporting to: Senior Refuge Worker Closing date for application: 5pm on Thursday 25th September 2025 Shift schedule: Oasis House provides a 24/7 service. Rotation is balanced between day and night shifts which includes weekends for the full-time posts. For the part-time post the hours are set hours Monday-Friday. Rotation period: Monthly rotation Shift Length: 12 hours for the full-time position, hours for part-time position to be confirmed. Overview: Refuge worker/project worker for the Accommodation, Helpline and Drop-in services. Project-Worker, CASP Community Substance Misuse Team
JOB SPECIFICATION Applications are invited for the following position: Project-Worker, CASP Community Substance Misuse Team Based in the Mid-West. The successful candidate will need to: Hold a recognized third level qualification in Addiction, Social/Health, Care/Community Development, Social Work, Mental Health or Psychology. Have a minimum of 3 years post qualification work experience in the areas of Substance Misuse and related issues, Community Development, Health & Social Care, or related social work, adolescent services. Hold a full clean Drivers Licence with adequate ‘business’ insurance cover. Have a working knowledge of Statutory, Community and Voluntary organisations working practices and effective inter-agency work. Have a working knowledge of related legislative and governing strategic objectives in relation to substance misuse and services for under 18s. Work within child protection guidelines and legislation and being accountable to Team Leader/CEO. Have the ability to work independently and on own initiative. To have a high standard of written and verbal communication skills. Evidence of flexibility in working within multi-disciplinary and multi-sectoral teams. Excellent interpersonal and group work skills. Have the knowledge and work with evidence-based practices including ACRA, CRAFT, SFP, MI, 5 Step Model in working with adolescents and family members. Have a good working knowledge of data collection systems – Salesforce, HRB Link system and with experience in IT Skills i.e., Excel, Word and PowerPoint. The post holder will be required to execute the following - RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES Direct Client Work This is a part-time post (14 hours) with some occasional evening and weekend work required. This post is offered on a nine month/one-year fixed term contract (maternity cover). A 6-month probationary period is standard. A panel may be formed from which all future vacancies will be filled. It also has statutory responsibility for supporting the provision, coordination, administration and assessment of youth work services in Dublin city and is the lead partner for Music Generation Dublin City.
