We are hiring Community Access Facilitators in Comeragh Services Corlann are looking for bright, ambitious individuals who have a positive attitude towards working with people with an intellectual disability and who are committed to ensuring that our persons supported lead as fulfilling and enjoyable a life as possible. Permanent Part Time, and Fixed Term contracts available. There will be a supplementary panel formed for all Community Access Facilitator posts within Comeragh Services from which current and future permanent and specified purpose vacancies of part time duration may be filled. The role of a Community Access Facilitator: The Community Access Facilitator works with Day Services wider team and management as well as members of the multi-disciplinary team. They will also build and maintain working relationships with relevant community organisations, educational providers and local employers. In this role you will take a lead role in supporting people within the framework of New Directions . You will work collaboratively with the person supported, their nominated circle of support to co-produce person-centred plans with ambition and possibility. You will support the person to access mainstream opportunities (education, work, civic life) on the same basis as others, and to challenge structural barriers where they arise. You will promote advocacy and self-direction, ensuring the person’s voice is central to all planning and decision-making bysupporting adults with a disability to speak up for themselves and make their own choices, making sure their views guide all planning and decisions. What does this role involve? Responsible for managing the people, resources and performance of their assigned shift within the regional Randox Clinical Laboratory Services (RCLS) laboratory, ensuring that testing is completed accurately, safely and to the required turnaround time. The post-holder holds overall accountability for shift level KPIs — productivity, error rates, QC performance, instrument downtime and backlog — taking direct action to resolve issues in real time and is reports to the Regional Laboratory Manager for the shift's overall results. PERFORMANCE OWNERSHIP & ACCOUNTABILITY ● Manage the people, resources and overall performance of the assigned shift, holding accountability for productivity, quality, turnaround time and safety, and reporting directly to the Regional Laboratory Manager on results achieved. ● Own shift-level KPIs — productivity, error rates, QC pass rate, repeat/re-test rate, instrument downtime and sample backlog — driving corrective action in real time whenever performance falls short of target. ● Act as incident lead for the shift, owning the initial response to any incident raised and coordinating other departments through to resolution, keeping the Regional Laboratory Manager informed throughout. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES ● Manage the day-to-day running of the shift, ensuring adequate staff cover, effective allocation of equipment and consumables, and adherence to standard operating procedures throughout. ● Coordinate with Clinics during the shift on sample collection, courier and specimen queries, ensuring issues affecting sample receipt or turnaround are resolved promptly. ● Coordinate with Customer Support during the shift on client queries, urgent requests and result-reporting issues, ensuring the shift's response supports client service commitments. ● Investigate root causes of testing errors, non-conformances and elevated repeat/re-test rates, taking direct corrective action to reduce recurrence. ● Ensure sample integrity, chain of custody and correct handling procedures are maintained throughout the shift. ● Monitor stock and consumable levels during the shift, flagging shortages to the Regional Laboratory Manager in good time to avoid disruption to testing. ● Ensure all testing carried out during the shift complies with RCLS standard operating procedures and applicable standards, including ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 15189, GCP and MHRA Good Clinical Practice. Essential criteria: Qualified to degree level in Biomedical Science, Biochemistry, Chemistry or a related Life Science, or equivalent relevant laboratory experience. Proven experience working in a clinical diagnostic or clinical trials laboratory environment.
