Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) serves the entire community, a population of 1.9 million in an area of over 5,500 square miles. NIFRS wish to invite applications for the following role: Firefighter (Control) - C002/01/2026 (Fixed Term - 3 years) . We have a number of posts available. The Regional Control Centre is the first point of contact for members of the public with NIFRS when an emergency arises. A Firefighter (Control) answers emergency calls using specialised techniques in order to support and protect callers in potentially life threatening situations whilst mobilising fire service resources. The role is challenging and as such will involve a rigorous selection process with only candidates of the very highest calibre succeeding. In order to be successful in the role, a Firefighter (Control) must be able to process information quickly, prioritise tasks and work calmly under pressure. They must also be able to work effectively in a team and possess excellent communication skills. This is a rewarding role offering the opportunity for job satisfaction and career development. Location/Hours of work: The Regional Control Centre (RCC) is based at NIFRS Headquarters in Lisburn, 1 Seymour Street, Lisburn, BT27 4SX. Caislean Services provide a range of community-based servicesincluding day, residential, respite, community outreach, family support and a range of multidisciplinary support services. People are supported in various types of day settings – day centres, supported employment, social and micro enterprises, training and education and these can be in groups or individualised. People are supported in residential settings in their own homes in the community individually and in groups with different staffing support levels depending on their levels of disability. Our Services are person centred focusing on the needs and abilities of adults with intellectual disabilities and autism. We wish to create opportunities for people who use our service to have valued social roles in their communities and to form friendships. The Role: The Team Leader has a pivotal role in managing the day to day delivery of services. The Team Leader will provide leadership and supervision to teams while ensuring the development of the service in line with national standards and best practice. The main responsibilities are to assist the Team Manager with the management of the services, such as – person centred planning in line with Personal Outcome Measures ethos and practice, resource management and staffing - includingrosters, staff development, facilitating communication and professional leadership in order to ensure a good quality of life for the people supported. It is the Team Leader’s responsibility to ensure that the life of each person reflects the organisation’s core values: · Dignity, respect and a rights based model · Promoting independence in all areas of life through exposure, experience and education · Promoting friendships and relationships in ordinary places in the community and making a contribution · Making choices Reporting To/ Responsible To: Team Manager/Service Coordinator or delegate Qualifications/Experience: · A current Live Register Certificate from the NMBI (An Bord Altranais) is an essential requirement; RNID qualification is desirable. · An appropriate Health Management qualification is desirable (QQI Level 6). On appointment, if the successful candidate does not already hold such a qualification, they must undertake to complete an appropriate management course within a specified time-frame. · Previous experience of effectively managing a staff team and demonstrating proven ability to pro-actively lead, motivate, empower and achieve results through people is an advantage. · A minimum of three 3 years’ post qualification experience, working with people with an Intellectual Disability is essential. · Demonstrate a clear commitment to community integration and active citizenship for all people with disabilities with experience in the area of human rights and advocacy. · Experience of working in the area of autism and behaviours of concern would be an advantage. Working Hours: 75 hours a fortnight (CNM1 grade) rostered flexibly on a 7 day duty roster. The Role: Minibus Driver/Porter Location: Children’s Services / Transport Services. Reporting To: Transport Manager/Children’s Sector Manager/Children Service Coordinator or delegate. Qualifications: Candidates must have received a good general education and hold a full clean manual Irish Drivers Licence – Class D1.
