Team and Role Overview Group Risk Assurance (GRA) is a vibrant and diverse team within Second Line Assurance, playing an important role in informing senior management and the Board on the adequacy and effectiveness of our risk management and internal control environment. Our team is led by the Head of Group Risk Assurance within Risk and reports to the Head of Second Line Assurance, Chief Risk Officer, Group Risk Committee and Board Risk Committee. This new role of Senior Data Validation Specialist will support and execute the end-to-end validation process for the BCBS 239 (Basel’s Principles for effective risk data aggregation and reporting), assessing the completeness and accuracy of data flowing into key reports to ensure compliance with regulation. GRA are experts in different specialist areas – including Data Management, Information & Digital Technology, Resilience, Data Protection, Regulatory Compliance and more – accessing senior stakeholders within the organisation and plenty of opportunities to obtain great exposure and experience across all areas of the Bank. We’re looking for someone who can: Partake in Data Validation reviews from beginning to end, including: What we’ll need from you: Minimum of 4 years’ experience in Data Analytics, Data Management or Technology, ideally with Compliance or Audit experience in a Banking environment. Strong Data Analysis, programming, reporting and visualisation skills with knowledge and experience with tools such as SQL, PowerBI, Teradata, Qlikview, Advanced Excel and/or other analytics tools. Understanding and working experience with data governance, database management, data warehousing, data management frameworks & industry standards (e.g. DMBOK) and Risk Data Aggregation and Risk Reporting regulation. For this role, there is a preference for professionally qualified candidates in the areas of Data Management and Data Analytics/Data Science, with assurance qualifications (e.g. CISA) desirable. Has a lot of initiative, excellent attention to detail, communication and presentation skills and the ability to work to deadlines and remain calm under pressure. Knowledge of banking business, processes, regulations, especially related to data management and reporting capabilities is a plus.
