The Role: To provide clinical nursing skills in supporting people with intellectual disabilities in achieving optimum level of independence. The Comptroller and Auditor General (C&AG) and the NIAO, of which she is head, are completely independent of government and have two main functions: To certify the accounts of government departments and other central government bodies and to express an opinion on those accounts To carry out examinations into the economy, efficiency and effectiveness with which government departments and other public sector bodies have used their resources In each case the results are reported to the Northern Ireland Assembly.
