WHAT IS METAL FABRICATION The skills are wide and varied, skills such as measuring, marking out, cutting and welding materials. Learning how to use, care and safety operate machinery and equipment ie: Press Brake, Guillotine, Drills, Cutting etc... Welding mild steel, Aluminium , Stainless Steel, Making a livestock body from start to finish, repairing a trailer, repairing agriculture machinery and the odd unusual item. All metal fabrication will be trained in the following, working with a variety of specialised tools: Lather, Milling Machine, Grinders etc.. Assembling new machinery, dismantling repairs/make & fitting of new parts, report writing of completed work. PAY We pay all our apprentices the recommended wage set by the ETB. Review it after 3 months (A well adjusted candidate will be offered above the recommended wage.) A training allowance paid by the local ETB while the apprentices attending the off-the job training. This is a structured 2-year programme resulting in a level 6 degree and 2 years real world experience.
