As a Plumbing Apprentice, you’ll play a vital role in helping households enjoy reliable, efficient heating - while building a future‑ready skillset you can be genuinely proud of. Throughout your apprenticeship, you’ll combine practical workplace experience with mandatory off-the-job training. You’ll develop the skills, knowledge and practical experience needed to thrive. You'll develop the skills and experience needed to install, maintain and repair plumbing and heating systems - from everyday domestic work through to emerging technologies such as heat pumps, solar hot water systems, smart heating controls and full heating system installations. You’ll learn how to keep systems running safely and at their best, bringing older systems back to life and making smart upgrades that boost performance. With the support of experienced engineers, you’ll build the confidence, capability, and know-how to make a real difference from day one. This is a role where you'll make a real impact. You'll be out in the community, meeting customers, solving problems, and keeping homes safe and warm. No two days are the same - from fixing faults and maintaining plumbing and heating systems, to installing new technologies and helping customers run their systems more efficiently and reduce energy use. Here's what we’re looking for:  As you near completion, you may have the opportunity to apply for a permanent Heating Engineer or Service Engineer role. Successful candidates will receive further training to support progression towards becoming a qualified Gas Engineer, with opportunities to develop additional skills in heat pumps and other low-carbon technologies that support our net zero ambitions. Dairygold Co-Operative Society Limited is now pleased to invite applications for the position of Apprentice Fitter for our Mogeely plant within the Dairy Ireland Division. Reporting to the Site Asset Care Lead/Supervisor, the successful Candidate will work closely with the Site and Group Asset Care Team to deliver best in class plant maintenance and improvements in line with the Asset Care Strategy of the organisation. The Apprentice Fitter will have a key role to play in ensuring that the site always operates to the required mechanical standard. Core responsibilities for this role include: Learn and develop new practical craft related skills, knowledge and competencies. Working with and learn from experienced crafts people Support the Installation, commissioning, testing and maintenance of various electrical & control systems and services Various mechanical training will be provided using welding, brazing & soldering techniques Increased technological advances in PLCs, CNC, Robotic will be part of the training programme Adhere to all Environmental, Health and Safety Standards and Procedures Respond to plant downtime to ensure any contributory mechanical faults are resolved in a timely manner to ensure the plant can maximize throughput Candidates for this position should: Minimum pass grade in 5 leaving cert subjects including math’s, physics and any technical/science subject Have strong interpersonal, communication and written skills • Be results-orientated with a proven record of achievement Have excellent technical competence with the capacity to effectively analyse issues and problem solve in accordance with our Continuous Improvement philosophy Have a positive, can-do, resilient and flexible attitude with the ability to work on his/her own initiative Customer Focused and ability to worked within a team
