Familiar Faces Project Coordinator Fixed-Term Contract The Position The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in facilitating the delivery of Meath Partnership’s Familiar Faces Programme. Primary responsibilities include organising volunteers to participate in our newly established befriending service that seeks to support meaningful integration for new arrivals to Meath. Additionally, the successful candidate will coordinate the volunteer recruitment process, deliver tailored training courses and manage the needs of the befriending service clients. This role demands strong relationship-building skills to cultivate partnerships across different sectors and identify opportunities for future collaborations. Key Accountabilities Reporting to the Meath Volunteer Centre Manager and Chief Executive Officer thereafter, the Familiar Faces Programme Coordinator will be directly responsible for the following duties: · Lead the overall development of the befriending service. · Co-ordinate the befriending service on a day-to-day basis and provide support to volunteer Befrienders and service users. · Implement the monitoring and evaluation arrangements for the programme. · Ensure appropriate administrative arrangements are in place that will provide for the effective management of a large team of volunteers spread geographically across Meath. · Facilitate the successful recruitment of volunteers and participants for the Familiar Faces programme, through the engagement with relevant local organisations. · Enhance the understanding of integration and inclusion concepts among befriending volunteers, while providing them with clear insights into their roles as befriending volunteers. · Foster an increased sense of inclusion and improve local amenity awareness among participants (IPAs). · Raise awareness, knowledge, and critical understanding of integration, migration, and inclusion within local organisations through the delivery of training and capacity building. · Enhance Meath Partnership's capacity for delivering high-quality integration efforts within the community. · Deliver integration training and volunteer safeguarding training to potential volunteers and local businesses and community organisations. · Collaborate with the wider Meath Partnership integration team to promote the values and mission of the project goals. · Manage the social media campaign for the Familiar Faces programme. · Provide monthly reports on the progress of the service to the Volunteer Centre Manager. · Arrange suitable matches between trained volunteer Befrienders and the beneficiaries, and facilitate an introductory meeting. · Provide ongoing support to Befrienders and resolve any concerns, and support the befriending relationships · Maintain effective communication – both internally and externally – to share the success and progress of the programme with key stakeholders. Terms of Employment Full-time, fixed-term positions are available, working 37.5 hours per week. The nature of the work may require working some unsocial hours i.e. evenings and weekends. Access to own transport is essential and a full clean driving license. This post may be subject to Garda Vetting in line with Meath Partnerships policy. Location:  Units J & K Kells Business Park, Cavan Rd, Kells Co. Meath. To ensure a work life balance, a hybrid-working offering is in place. Age Friendly Programme Details Ireland’s Age Friendly Programme is coordinated by Age Friendly Ireland, an appointed shared service function of local government hosted by Meath County Council. The national Age Friendly Programme office brings together, supports and provides technical guidance to the 31 local authority led, multiagency Age Friendly Programmes. At city and county level, the programme is implemented through cooperation and partnership of older people with government agencies and service providers working side by side. Under the leadership of the local authority Chief Executives and senior managers, governance is anchored in the 31 multi-agency Age Friendly Alliances, supported by diversely representative Older People’s Councils engaged as co-design partners. The local Age Friendly Alliances provide the collaborative framework to involve senior leaders from key stakeholders such as the Local Authority, Health Service Executive, An Garda Síochána, Chambers of Commerce, community sector, third-level institutions, and others, who have sufficient influence and resources to develop and deliver ambitious and collaborative Age Friendly Programmes. The Programme for Government (2000) outlines a vision of an Age Friendly Ireland. The ageing agenda is also clearly referenced in recent government policies including Housing for All, Housing Options for our Ageing Population, and SláinteCare, as well as in planning, economic, local and community development policies. Background | Summary of Post The recruitment campaign will recruit a Regional Age Friendly Programme Manager for the East will be employed and based in Fingal County Council , and will work directly for the National Age Friendly Ireland Shared Service in Meath County Council. The Age Friendly Ireland shared service will directly manage the posts. The role of Age Friendly Regional Programme Manager is to help support the delivery of the four strategic objectives of the National Age Friendly Ireland shared service. Miscellaneous Provisions Salary Salary scale: €55,847 - €72,602 per annum (EL 02/23), Payment of increments is dependent on satisfactory performance. Hours of Work The normal working hours will be 35 hours per week. MEDICAL AND PHYSICAL STANDARDS Candidates must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect, abnormality, physiological condition or history of serious illness likely to interfere with the efficient performance of their duties. CONDITIONS GOVERNING THE AWARDING OF A PLACE TO BECOME AN AIR CORPS TRAINEE MILITARY AIRCRAFT SYSTEMS TECHNICIAN IN THE AIR CORPS 1. GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS To qualify, a candidate shall at the time of application be: (i) a citizen of the State, or be any other person who has a lawful entitlement to reside and work within the State for the period of time that is required for the purpose of any such appointment and (ii) be of good character and satisfy any security clearance required and (iii) meet the required minimum standards of medical and physical fitness. 2. AGE REQUIREMENT Candidates must be 18 years of age or above and under 39 years of age on 12th June 2024. THE AIR CORPS The Air Corps currently operates twenty six aircraft in multi-role national aviation tasks. The Air Corps also operates Eurocopter EC135 and Leonardo AW139 helicopters. The primary role of the Air Corps is to provide support to the Army, Naval Service and An Garda Síochána in countering threats to State security on land, sea and air. In addition, the day to day peace time role of the Air Corps includes activities such as Maritime Surveillance, Fishery Protection, Garda Air Support Unit, Ministerial Air Transport, Emergency Aeromedical Service and Air Ambulance The Air Corps trains its own Military Pilot Officers, Military Aircraft Technicians, Military Air Traffic Controllers, Air Photographers and General Service personnel. Air Corps personnel may serve overseas as mandated by Government. 2. THE AIR CORPS TRAINEE MILITARY AIRCRAFT SYSTEMS TECHNICIAN PROGRAMME The purpose of the Air Corps Trainee Military Aircraft Systems Technician programme is to provide military aircraft technicians for the Irish Air Corps. The programme offers successful candidates the opportunity of becoming an efficient and disciplined member of the Air Corps The trainee technician undergoes full basic military training and passes out as a 3-Star soldier prior to commencing their technical training.
