The Role: The Asset Operations function forms the cornerstone of service delivery to customers, protecting the environment and meeting regulatory standards, as well as managing the majority of operational expenditure. The function has responsibility for operational and maintenance strategy, policies, planning and standard operating procedures for Water and Wastewater operations both nationally and regionally, ensuring that value for money and customer service is delivered. The Wastewater O&M Management area is responsible for the national delivery of wastewater operational services through the operation, inspection, maintenance and repair of the wastewater network and treatment assets. Reporting to the Wastewater Network Maintenance and Repair Team Lead, the Wastewater Network Maintenance and Repair Jetting HGV Senior Operative is responsible for supporting planned and reactive maintenance and repair activities across the wastewater network infrastructure in a safe manner. Wastewater Network Maintenance and Repair Jetting HGV Senior Operative’s duties play a critical role in delivering consistent customer service. Main Duties and Responsibilities: • Undertake both routine and reactive maintenance activities across the wastewater network infrastructure in a safe manner. This includes responding to clean and unblocked sewers, pumping stations, wells, tanks and other assets across both the wastewater network and wastewater treatment asset base. • Responsible for responding to alarms and resolving issues at wastewater network infrastructure assets which may include: • Sewer blockages and sewer cleansing • Pumping station alarms, blockages and cleansing • Pumping station overflows • Underground Chambers and wells • Wastewater Treatment assets such as tanks and wells • Working in environment with foul odours • Identify and resolve, where appropriate problems that have been highlighted on a case by base basis whilst on site, such as root infestation and mitigating collapsed sewers. • Undertake testing following completion of activities on the wastewater network asset base • Operate and maintain a HGV unit 20 tonne + from the depot. (Note, The current fleet consists of vactors and recyclers but vehicle type may change as UÉ enhances it’s fleet to respond to changing needs) • Responsible for work and site supervision along with undertaking and / or ensuring the following actions are completed; o Appropriate equipment, fittings and materials are available for the required work o Initial location assessment and park up locations o Work Order review and acceptance, updates, completion. Follow on work order as required* o Work, quality and completeness of job at closure o Work direction on site, supporting team members and contractor resources where appropriate o Ensuring the Site is left safe when leaving/ Safe to resume work when returning o Ensuring vehicle checks are completed and the asset care of the vehicle is undertaken. • Responsible for a variety of Health and Safety activities including: o Pre start checklist completion o SSWP adherence o Identification of hazards and services o Ensuring the asset is safe to work on o Ensuring site safety for staff, contractors and members of the public • Responsible for several Traffic management activities including: o Use of Proworks as required o Traffic Management set up/ Signing, Lighting and Guarding - in line with Proworks/ Traffic Management Plan • Support incident and emergency response, ensuring all health and safety standards are met and pollution classifications are consistent • Escalate issues and ensure data capture on issues that are relevant to the development of operational, maintenance and repair plans • Responsible for ensuring stock levels in vehicles are sufficient for performing M&R activities at first visit • Update relevant systems and report on internal and external customer’s issues / problems including task requests and GIS updates • Responsible for issuing of permits to work as trained to all relevant contractors and ensure they follow all health and safety procedures • Responsible for supporting the Wastewater Network M&R Team Lead and mentoring of Wastewater Network M&R Operatives, as required • Coordinate activities daily to maintenance team as the Team Lead manages the team remotely e.g. checking that tasks are complete, verifying timesheets prior to Team Lead sign-off and authorising leave requests • Ensure all information is accurately recorded and promptly reported for audit purposes including the capturing of data on existing or replacement assets using the technology systems provided • Responsible for undertaking administrative tasks, including the completion of timesheets, work orders, raising of purchase request, H&S records and inventory management using the technology systems provided • Perform reactive investigations and raise work requests for resolution, passing back updated work orders from the field that require further contact and input from Customer Service • Support Key Account Managers with any queries relating to issues affecting Key Accounts in their area • Support Customer Contact Centre / Customer Contact Technical Specialist with any customer issues/queries in their area • Ensure that any damage caused to an asset, by a third party or otherwise, is captured and declared to the Team Lead when required General Duties and Responsibilities: • Collaborate with key internal stakeholders across the UÉ business • Responsible for promoting and delivering health and safety commitments across UÉ and its supply chain, reinforcing positive behaviours and delivering health and safety objectives and requirements to the highest industry standards. • Support the delivery of the Uisce Éireann Transformation Programme, driving results required within the Directorate and supporting organisation-wide objectives. • Conducts duties and responsibilities in accordance with Uisce Éireann’s Information Security policies, standards, processes and controls to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of UÉ business information, and delivery of critical services, in accordance with the NIS Directive and any other relevant cybersecurity regulation. • Other duties as required, including supporting other areas wastewater services during vehicle down time. Knowledge, Skills and Experience: • Secondary level education or equivalent work experience • Minimum two years relevant experience working in a similar role • Full, clean and valid Irish category B & C/HGV driving licence is minimum requirement. Carpentry and Joinery Apprentice
The Trade of Carpentry & Joinery is very wide and varied. It encompasses most of the skills required by the Wood Trades. These skills required of the Carpenter & Joiner are not confined to those required to work in wood but include skills in the use of metals, plastics and fabrics. The Carpenter & Joiner is also required to work in a cross section of domains within the overall trade. The following are some examples: Joinery Shop: This section of the occupation requires the Carpenter & Joiner to engage in setting out, production and assembling items of joinery which include stairs, doors, windows and built-in furniture. Site Work: Site work is the construction of buildings or houses which require 1st fixing, formwork roofs and 2nd fixing. This section is split into two categories: constructing and civil engineering contracts. Maintenance: Maintenance work requires the Carpenter & Joiner to carry out a variety of tasks in general maintenance and upkeep of public and private buildings, e.g. shops and factories. There are other areas associated with the trade which include renovating buildings, shopfitting, and exhibition/display work. Motor Mechanics Apprentice
First year apprentice, no experience required but would be an advantage. Must have driving licence and rights to work in Ireland. The work of a Motor Mechanic involves the servicing, maintenance and fault diagnosis of automobile and light commercial vehicle mechanical and electrical systems, vehicle component removal, installation or repair according to original manufacturers’ specification. At the end of the apprenticeship, the craftsperson will be able to demonstrate competence in the following skills: Servicing Read, interpret and carry out manufacturers’ instructions for all vehicle service, maintenance and repair procedures. Complete a vehicle report form. Fgas Describe the overall aim of Regulation No. 842/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 17 May 2006 in relation to the air conditioning systems of automotive vehicles (MACs). List the dangers to personal health and related safety regulations related to the refrigerant gas contained in mobile air conditioning (MAC) systems. Describe the location of possible leaks of refrigerant gas from an automotive air conditioning unit. Engine Diagnose faults, dismantle and reassemble the engine and its ancillary components. Replace timing belts and chains. Use all recommended bolt tightening procedures. Electrical Read and interpret relevant electrical wiring diagrams. Use fault-code reader to interrogate ECU memory and OBD system. Employ a logical and structured fault diagnosis methodology (use of diagnostic flow charts).
