As a Metal Fabricator the successful applicant will be required to read and interpret drawings, measure and cut material, operated drilling equipment and other power tools, assemble, weld and polish a range of materials including Mild Steel, Stainless Steel and Aluminium. The Role You'll receive hands-on training while learning to: * Service, maintain and repair forklifts and material handling equipment * Carry out servicing and repairs on cars and light commercial vehicles * Diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults * Carry out routine inspections and preventative maintenance * Use modern workshop tools and diagnostic equipment * Work safely and to a high standard Who We're Looking For * We're looking for someone who is practical, reliable and keen to learn. * An interest in cars, machinery or mechanics is important, but previous experience isn't essential. * Applicants must meet the relevant SOLAS apprenticeship entry requirements. * Applicant must hold either a full drivers licence or learners permit * Commitment to a 4-year programme that involves both on and off-the-job training which will require travel to designated Solas Centres What We Offer * Paid apprenticeship with pay progression upon successful completion of each Solas phase * Hands-on training with experienced technicians * Experience across a wide range of vehicles e.g. forklifts, cars, commercial vehicles etc. * Training, mentoring and career development * Opportunity for a long-term position once qualified
