Job Overview: Reporting to the Homeland Branch Manager, the successful candidate will work as part of a close-knit team to ensure an excellent customer experience is provided to all Homeland customers. This opportunity is for our Household and Clothing Department. This role has extensive growth opportunities for the successful candidate who demonstrates a drive & a will to go the extra mile in their daily operations. The Company McMahons Builders Providers have been providing quality building supplies and DIY materials to the trade and public for over 200 years. The group consists of a network of 12 stores, as well as a Truss Manufacturing plant and 3 Hardwood & Sheet Material branches. McMahons offer a one stop shop offering, with a wide range of products catering for the Builder, DIY enthusiast and Home Owner. McMahon’s extensive product range includes building materials, plumbing & heating, timber & sheeting, insulation, plant & tool hire, painting & decorating, doors & floors, bathrooms, garden and outdoor and much more. The Role McMahons are now seeking applications for the position of a Plumbing Counter Sales for their branch located in Limerick. The Limerick branch is a thriving builders providers branch with significant capacity to grow. · Serving customers in the shop and answering the phones as and when required. · Building strong working relationships with customers in order to understand their requirements. · Identifying sales opportunities and offering advice & solutions to customers to achieve maximum sales. · Maintaining a well merchandised Store / Shop area. · Responsible for ensuring adequate stock levels of key products, reordering as required. · Assisting with cycle counting and stock taking. · Liaising with the Warehouse and Yard staff to help fulfill incoming orders. · Dealing with other requests to support the busy operation as and when required. · Following company policies and procedures from an operational and health and safety perspective. The Person The following mix of experience and attributes will be required by the successful candidate: · Minimum 3 years experience working in Retail / Builders merchant · A proven track record in achieving & exceeding sales & margin targets · Knowledge of DIY products and building materials, particularly plumbing and heating products · Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. · A positive can-do attitude. · Be computer literate.
