AONB And Geopark Project Officer: Peatplus
** Please read the recruitment pack before completing your application ** Job Summary To be responsible for the financial administration, procurement, and delivery coordination of Newry, Mourne and Down District Council’s role within the PEAT+ Project, a PEACEPLUS-funded cross-border initiative focused on peatland restoration, climate action, and biodiversity enhancement. The postholder will ensure the effective management of Council’s PEAT+ budget, including procurement processes, grant claims, financial monitoring, and audit compliance. They will coordinate and oversee the delivery of project outputs across Slieve Gullion SAC and Eastern Mournes SAC, ensuring that all activities are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with PEACEPLUS requirements, partnership agreements, and Council governance procedures. The role will involve working closely with internal departments, project partners, and external contractors to ensure that all project deliverables, monitoring, and reporting requirements are met to the highest standard. The project is supported by PEACEPLUS, a programme managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB). Duration of Appointment This is a temporary funded post until 30 June 2029, which may be extended or curtailed subject to funding. Working Pattern 36hrs Monday – Friday.
