Overview of role: UPMC Sports Surgery Clinic are currently recruiting for a part-time Clerical Officer for a fixed term contract for 5 months. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Drive quality and ensure it is compliant to relevant standards.Admissions of patients to InPatient Ward and Day Ward.Reception duties as part of your duties ensuring all calls and queries are answered.Ensuring all electronic referrals are correct on system.Preparing charts for following day.Maintain an awareness of the privacy of patients in relation to all activities.Create a culture of accountability openness to change; respect for the individual and Teamwork that supports the achievement of our goals.Create and promote healthy working relationships.Demonstrate behaviour consistent with the values of the Hospital.Contribute to the development of an organizational culture which is conducive to the establishment and maintenance of good staff morale.Ensure incidents, near misses, involving patients and staff are documented and reported in accordance with Clinic’s procedures and guidelines.Setting and monitoring standards.Contribute to the development of an organisational culture which is conducive to the establishment and maintenance of good staff morale.Have a flexible attitude.Liaise with Theatre re time changes.Ensuring letters are filed in charts.Advise Theatre staff of any changes to theatre list e.g. additional cases, cancellations etc.Checking of charts before sending to Wards. Qualifications & Experience: The successful candidate must be educated to Leaving Certificate Standard. Experience At least 2 years previous clerical experience.Previous experience of working within an acute/clinical setting.Self-directed and an ability to work independently.Diplomatic and tactful with the ability to build and maintain relationships.A team player with an open and flexible attitude.Excellent communication skills – written and verbal.Computer literate.Flexibility to work in an ever-changing environment.Be able to identify potential difficulties and formulate solutions.Be of good character. We currently provide supports to 37 people with an intellectual disability to live as independently as possible in their own home in their chosen community. These supports enable the person to be an active and valued member of their community. The successful Social Care Worker candidate must have the following: Qualifications required · QQI Level 7 Bachelor of Arts in Applied Social Studies (Disability) - Open Training College; · Level 7 award in Social Care/Studies delivered by an Institute of Technology, DIT or National University of Ireland; · A qualification received outside the State recognised by NARIC as equivalent to the Irish Level 7 award.
