Care Workers
The ASI is currently recruiting for 2 Care Workers for our Day Centre service in Leitrim Day Care, St. Patrick's, Summerhill, Carrick-on-Shannon, Co. Leitrim, who will report to the Day Centre Manager. This is a permanent contract working 7 hours per week. The Alzheimer Society of Ireland works across the country in the heart of local communities providing dementia specific services and supports and advocating for the rights and needs of all people living with dementia and their carers. Our vision is an Ireland where people on the journey of dementia are valued and supported. A national non-profit organisation, The Alzheimer Society of Ireland is person centred, rights-based and grassroots led with the voice of the person with dementia and their carer at its core. The successful candidates will be responsible for providing person centred care to people with dementia in the Day Centre. You will need good communication and organisational skills and be able to work on your own initiative. To be successful in this position it is essential you possess previous experience of undertaking social and cognitive stimulation activities with people with dementia, older people or people with intellectual disabilities. Candidates in this area must have a full clean driving licence and access to a car to be considered for this role. A FETAC Level 5 is desirable. Confidence in using IT/email is also desirable. We are offering a competitive salary commensurate with the care sector and dependent on relevant experience. CORLANN –WEST REGION POSTS: Permanent Part-Time Social Care Worker CURLEW ADULT SERVICES (Boyle & Frenchpark areas) Job Ref : 100658 A panel may be formed as a result of this campaign from which current and future, permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full or part-time duration may be filled. Locum Social Care Worker roles are also available. Curlew Adult Services (Boyle & Frenchpark Areas). Staff allocation could be either within residential/respite/day settings or in community services or in an individual’s own home. The appointee will initially commence working in one particular area of the Curlew Services and this work location may change due to future service needs. The Role: Social Care Workers fulfil a key worker supportive and advocative role for adults supported by the service in all aspects of their lives, focusing on each individual’s ability and promoting independence and development of skills at all times. The Social Care Worker will assist people with the development of person-centred plans and critically, will support people to make informed choices and fulfil their potential. They will encourage participation in the community through inclusive and creative thinking, seek opportunities for new experiences and encourage positive risk taking in leading to informed choices. Eligibility Criteria/Statutory Registration, Professional Qualifications, Experience Be registered in the Social Care Workers Register maintained by the Social Care Workers Registration Board - CORU Or Be eligible under the Section 91 (existing practitioner) route for registration in the Social Care Workers Register maintained by the Social Care Workers Registration Board - CORU (evidence of application status is necessary) AND All posts are based on a 14-day duty roster. The successful candidates may be required to work to accommodate an integrated day service, with weekend work, some split duty hours, public holidays, evening/night duty and sleep-ins to meet service needs. Corlann model of service is based on Personal Outcome Measures quality and person centred planning system requiring employees to be flexible in their working hours to provide a quality service delivery for each person supported. Annual Leave: 22 days per annum (pro-rata for part-time), i.e. 8.46 hours per 100 hours worked. Appropriate service related leave will be granted after 5 and 10 years’ service respectively. Remuneration: Department of Health Social Care Worker salary scale as at 01/06/2026 apply: €41,260 X 11 increments - €56,717 per annum (pro-rata for part-time). A long service increment €57,789 per annum (pro-rata for part-time) is payable after 3 years on the maximum of the scale. Additional payments will be made for weekends, public holidays and night duty when worked. Salary quoted is based on a 39 hour working week. Youthreach Resource Person
Job Purpose Youthreach is an integral part of the national programme of second-chance education and training in Ireland. It is directed at early school leavers aged between 15 and 20 years and operates on a full-time, year-round basis. Participation in Youthreach offers young people the opportunity to identify and pursue viable options within adult life and provides opportunities to acquire recognised certification. All staff and learners in Youthreach participate in the Youthreach Quality Framework Initiative for planning, evaluation and validation purposes. The Resource Person reports to the Youthreach Co-Ordinator on a day-to-day basis and is a core member of the Youthreach staff team.
