Job Summary This position is for a Cleaner, reporting to the centre coordinator, or a designated supervisor. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that the centre environment is clean, safe, and well maintained for all learners, staff, and visitors. Flexibility is essential, as duties may vary depending on the needs of the centre. Key Responsibilities The Cleaner will be expected to carry out a range of cleaning tasks and respond promptly to any issues that may arise during the working day. Duties include the following: ▪ Internal cleaning of the centre to a standard suitable for occupation by staff and learners ▪ Sweeping, hoovering and dusting ▪ Washing and cleaning of glass, furniture and floors as required ▪ Cleaning of wash basins and sinks ▪ Washing and drying of dishes in the kitchen area ▪ Cleaning, washing, and disinfecting all toilets as required ▪ Emptying of bins ▪ Reporting any health hazards or damage to school property or equipment in need of repair ▪ Setting the alarm code when leaving the building ▪ Adhering to the School Safety Statement ▪ Performing other duties as may be required and carrying out instructions given from time to time by the Supervisor, or other responsible officer ▪ Attending and providing cleaning support for special functions that may arise from time to time outside normal working hours This job description offers a broad outline of the role’s key duties and is designed to be flexible and adaptable.
