This purpose-designed facility will be located at  Regina House, Cooraclare Road ,  Kilrush  and will operate  Monday to Thursday , providing a warm and supportive environment where older persons can flourish.As we prepare to open our doors in the very near future, we are now seeking to recruit  two kind, compassionate, and reliable Multi-Task Assistants  to join our dedicated team.We would love to hear from you, if you have: A positive attitude A genuine passion for supporting older persons The desire to help make every day a good day JOB DESCRIPTION – MULTI-TASK ASSISTANT – KILRUSH DAY CENTRETITLE: Multi-Task Assistant (MTA)ROLE: Working under the guidance of the Day Centre Manager, the Multi-task Assistant will provide high quality care and support in a compassionate and understanding person centred service to Day Centre clients at Clarecare’s new Day Centre facility in Kilrush. OBJECTIVE:  This is a part-time permanent contract of employment of 4 days per week (Monday to Thursday inclusive) to assist with the delivery of a Day Care Service at Clarecare’s Day Centre for up to 20 older persons on a Monday to Thursday basis.  JOB RELATIONS:  The Multi-Task Assistant will report to the Day Centre Manager and work closely with other Day Centre staff members. The Multi-Task Assistant will also be part of the wider Older Persons Services Team in Clarecare. JOB LOCATION:  The position offered will be based on-site in Clarecare’s new Day Centre facility at Regina House, Cooraclare Road, Kilrush, Co. Clare. Location may change based on operational requirements. Remote/Hybrid working does not apply to this role. HOURS OF WORK:  9.30 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. daily i.e. 6.5 hours working day inclusive of rest break over 4 days per week Monday to Thursday inclusive. Total of 26 hours per week. You are required to be flexible regarding your start/finish time / work hours and work days per week to meet the operational requirements of this evolving Service. Work days/work hours are subject to change. RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION: General Responsibilities: To report to the Day Centre Manager or designate. To adhere to Clarecare policies and procedures in relation to your work with Clarecare. Ability to maintain the principles of confidentiality in all areas of work. To maintain files in accordance with Clarecare standards in order to ensure that good record keeping practices are in place. To work as part of the wider Clarecare Structure. To support the work of staff, volunteers, students and others involved in Clarecare. To attend supervision sessions with your Line Manager. To maintain professional boundaries in all work with clients, staff, volunteers, external suppliers, etc.· To perform such other duties appropriate to the office as may be assigned to you by your Line Manager or designate. Attend meetings in connection with Day Care Centre. Attend and participate in all mandatory and other relevant training as advised by your Line Manager. Attend other meetings as required. Specific Responsibilities: Assist and support clients attending the Day Centre with Activities of Daily Living (ADL’s) e.g. eating/drinking at meal times and with personal hygiene/mobility thereby, promoting their independence, preferences and well-being.  Build a trusting relationship with clients and their Carers so that they feel secure in the Day Centre environment. Respect the dignity, rights and confidentiality of all clients attending the Day Centre by acting in a professional and courteous manner at all times, with a focus on providing a quality service to improve the lives of clients attending the Centre.  Abide by Clarecare’s “Code of Conduct & Behaviour Policy & Procedure” and other related policies/procedures. Be willing to undertake additional training to enhance the role e.g Sonas, Fit for Life training and complete all training requirements identified by the Day Centre Manager or designate. Bus duties. Interact with clients, families, and other staff members in a clear, patient and empathetic manner.  Maintain the confidentiality of all information made available to them during the course of their work except in circumstances of mandatory reporting. MTA’s must maintain acceptable levels of personal hygiene and must ensure that they dress appropriately and wear suitablefootwear and abide by the full terms of Clarecare’s “Head to Toe (Personal Presentation and Personal Hygiene) Policy andProcedure” and any other relevant policies/procedures. It is incumbent upon MTA’s to carry out the work in a safe and professional way and abide by and adhere to specificinstructions as directed by the Day Centre Manager or designate. This includes adherence to the full terms contained in Clarecare’s policies and procedures e.g. “Code of Conduct and Behaviour Policy….” CCHR006 and HSE’s Policy on “Safeguarding Vulnerable Persons at Risk Of Abuse”, Dec 2014 and HSE Policy on “Safeguarding Children”, Children FirstAct 2015 and any other relevant policies & procedures. Carry out assigned and delegated responsibilities involving direct care with clients. Where relevant, assist clients in engaging with Centre activities/entertainment that enhances their cognitive function andsocial interaction and in consultation with the Day Centre Manager, identify and develop activities to enhance servicedelivery.  Responsible for the general cleaning of Service areas (e.g. bathrooms/shower/public areas e.g. Hallways, including floorsand walls - ensuring all areas are clean (sweeping/mopping) and hygienic)) as identified by the Day Centre Manager andensure the agreed standard of cleanliness and hygiene (as per Clarecare protocols/best practice regulations/standards) aremaintained in all areas and appropriately documented in line with Clarecare and locally devised policies and regulations. Be familiar with your responsibilities and willing to undertake same, in accordance with the role of Multi-Task Assistant. Assist in ensuring a safe and supportive Day Care environment where the well-being of clients is paramount. Adhere tohealth & safety policies & procedures/protocols. Report any defects on equipment to the Day Centre Manager e.g. wheelchair/reclining chair defects and ensure allequipment is stored safely. Wear relevant personal protective clothing (i.e. gloves, mask, apron/gown etc) as per Clarecare and HSE regulations/PublicHealth guidelines) on a daily basis e.g. when cleaning and attending to clients and carrying out general/deep cleaning ofrelevant work areas. Ensure all relevant work areas are free from rubbish and are swept and cleaned daily/weekly. Be willing to undertake any other relevant duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION: Essential Requirements: Minimum of QQI Level 5 Healthcare qualification - 2 modules i.e. Care of the Older Person  and  Care Skills). Valid and current Manual Handling & Patient Handling Certification. Ideally, hold HACCP current certification. Strong work ethic and experienced in the delivery of care to older persons with a keen interest in, and a passion for workingwith older persons. High level understanding of HACCP food hygiene, personal hygiene and care procedures for clients with ability to clean tothe highest standards. Flexible and adaptable to meet changing Service needs. Ability to work effectively with older people in a professional capacity with a keen understanding of their needs. Listen effectively and carry out tasks in a timely manner. Ability to quickly understand and follow instructions with a “can do” attitude. Live the “Values” of Clarecare. Well-developed communication skills and ability to interact socially with clients and peers/staff/others. Excellent customer service skills. A great team player. Excellent time keeping, communication (verbal/written with clients and their family members), be well organised with theability to work on own initiative and as part of a team in a fast-paced working environment. Proficient in using technology to input data e.g. OneTouch, etc. A positive ‘fit to work’ medical. A positive Garda clearance/vetting. Two positive written references from your current and most recent employer. A knowledge of the work & ethos of Clarecare. Desirable: Previous professional experience of working in a care setting. OBJECTIVE:  The objective of this role is to deliver a safe, effective & efficient Home Support service in line with required practice standards, to support older people (with assessed support needs) and where relevant, their specified person(s) (e.g. family, friends who provide care) so as to enable the service user to be as independent as possible in their own home, for as long as possible. The successful candidate will work as part of the team in Clarecare and liaise regularly with same. Flexibility and willingness to travel is essential. You may be required to work outside of normal hours if necessary. Training and supervision (including shadowing where relevant) will be provided to the successful candidate. JOB RELATIONS: The Home Support Worker, will report to the Home Support Area Manager in the relevant geographical area and work as part of a wider Home Support Service team in Clarecare. Home Support Area Managers report into the Home Support Service Manager within Clarecare who has overall responsibility for Clarecare’s Home Support Service. S/he will link with other relevant Departments/Services within Clarecare as relevant and also liaise with (PHN) Public Health Nurses and other Health Support Professionals, where relevant, as part of the role. HOURS OF WORK: This is a part-time permanent role (subject to receipt of continued funding from HSE as Service Provider and successful completion of 12 months probationary period). Due to the nature of Home Support Services for Older People in the Community and HSE’s Service Provider terms of business (i.e. HSE as Service Provider offers hours for service users to Clarecare and other similar Home Support Agencies); we are unable to ascertain at any given time, the volume of business being offered/provided by HSE as Service Provider and therefore, are unable to offer regular work hours to the Home Support Worker. However, as per The Employment (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2018, at the end of an initial 12 months continuous service (probationary period) with Clarecare, Home Support Workers may apply to be placed on a fixed band of hours that include the average hours worked by them in the previous 12 months period. A Home Support Worker’s normal hours of work will be as outlined on the Personal Support Plan Assignment roster relevant to each Service User and hours of work provided are solely based on service user needs assessment. Amendments to assigned work hours/duties can only be made/approved by the Home Support Area Manager or designate. The Service reserves the right to alter these working hours/assigned duties from time to time based on the needs of the Service User. JOB LOCATION: The position offered is based in the community providing Home Support services to vulnerable service users in the community. The successful candidate will be required to travel as part of their daily role and may be requested from time to time, to travel to other Clarecare centre locations in the course of his/her work as and when required e.g. for training purposes, etc. Therefore, a full clean current driver’s licence, use of own vehicle for work purposes, and willingness to indemnify Clarecare re using your car for business purposes is essential for this role.
