Production Chef

Are you an experienced Chef with a passion for food. If so, then Avoca would like to hear from you.  We are a food production and retail company with multiple stores in Wicklow, Dublin, Kildare, and Meath.  We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Chef de Partie who is passionate about food to join our busy kitchen in our Central Processing Unit in  Bray, Co Wicklow. You will be working with fresh food produce and artisan ingredients.  Our chefs are hardworking and creative, and we are very team focused. It is a busy kitchen and there will be high volume orders. You will be working closely with the Head Chef and Culinary Lead to develop and grow the business.  You will need the ability to lead the section and assist in up skilling your team. Working days: Monday to Friday. Saturday and Sunday off, working days may vary during peak times or during holiday season. Working times: Start time Morning shift 05.00am-14.00pm, working hours may vary during peak times or during holiday season. Full time: 40-hour weekly roster Requirements for the role: ~A minimum of 3 years of experience is required. ~Have previous experience working within hotels or in a similar role. ~Ability to lead a section during busy periods in the kitchen. ~A full knowledge of HACCP and its implementation ~A full knowledge of Food Safety  ~Be detail oriented especially in relation to health and safety rules. ~Be energetic and have a friendly disposition, possess strong interpersonal skills, a good team player. ~Be reliable and trustworthy. ~Entitled to work full time in Ireland. ~Fluent English is essential. ~Flexible with working days and hours Job spec: ~Team player & with an ability to work under pressure. ~Preparing various products on a day to day basis including Sausage rolls, Meatballs, Glazed loins of bacon, Preparing Fish, Preparing Chicken and also preparing Fresh marinades and Mixes. ~Producing dishes in a timely safe manner. ~Producing & ensuring that dishes are made to the highest standard and followed according to Spec and SOP ~Adhere to HACCP regulations at all times  ~Support your fellow kitchen staff in observing appropriate systems of hygiene during food preparation and storage. The successful candidate will have: Essential Criteria: 1. Statutory Registration, Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc. (a) Eligible applicants will be those who, on the closing date for the competition: (i) Hold professional registration, or be eligible for registration, on the Social Care Workers Register maintained by the Social Care Workers Registration Board at CORU. See list of recognised Social Care qualifications at: CORU Approved Qualifications OR (ii) Have a Schedule 3 qualification. See list of recognised Schedule 3 qualifications at: Schedule 3 Qualifications OR (iii) Have a comparable qualification recognised by the Social Care Workers Registration Board at CORU. OR (iv) Applicants who satisfy the conditions set out in Section 91 of the Health and Social Care Professionals Act 2005 must submit proof of application for registration with the Social Care Workers Registration Board at CORU. The acceptable proof is correspondence from the Social Care Workers Registration Board at CORU confirming their application for registration as a Section 91 applicant was received by 30th November 2025. OR (v) Provide proof of statutory registration on the Social Care Workers Register maintained by the Social Care Workers Registration Board at COR before a contract of employment can be issued. AND (b) Candidates must possess the requisite knowledge and ability, including a high standard of suitability, for the proper discharge of the role. 2. Annual Registration (i) On appointment, practitioners must maintain annual registration on the Social Care Workers Register maintained by the Social Care Workers Registration Board at CORU. AND · Experience in contributing to the development of personal plans. · Experience and knowledge of the role of a key worker. · Experience of delivering personal care. · Experience of assisting children with medical needs/administering medication. · Experience of engaging in professional supervision. · Possess a full, clean driving licence. · Eligible to work in the State.
