Services include a 7/7 Local Injury Unit, 7/7 Medical Assessment Unit, 113 medical inpatient beds incorporating Stroke & Ortho Rehab Units, 4 inpatient beds for rehabilitation of patients living with severe and complex obesity, Endoscopy, a 5/7 Day Surgery Unit, an Outpatient Department, Radiology, Centre for Obesity Management, National Gender Service, and various diagnostic services for local GPs. St. Columcille’s Hospital acts as a hub and spoke model for integrated care. The Principal Social Worker also manages the social work service provision within the mortuary as post-mortem liaison social workers. Reporting Relationship The post holder will report to: Operationally – General Manager, St. Columcille’s Hospital Liaises with: Medical, Nursing, Health & Social Care Professionals and all Heads of Departments. Social Worker, Principal Terms and Conditions of Employment Tenure The current vacancy for this post is permanent and whole time. This post is pensionable. Essential Requirements: • BSc in Human Nutrition and Diploma in Dietetics, or equivalent qualification approved by the Dietitians Registration Board at CORU. • Registered with the Dietitians Registration Board, CORU. • Minimum of three years post-qualification dietetic experience, including experience in paediatric dietetics. • Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team. • Experience in tube feeding and modified consistency diets. • Excellent communication, initiative, and time management skills. • Full, clean driving licence and access to own transport. *Candidates with qualifications obtained outside Ireland require validation by the Department of Health or CORU, as appropriate. Desirable Requirements: •Previous experience working with adults or children with disabilities. • PEG replacement training certification. Terms: • Grade: Senior Dietitian • Contract Type: Permanent – Part-Time (0.7 WTE split post: 0.35 Adult / 0.35 Children’s Services) • Location: Community-based services across St Michael’s House sites. Salary Scale: Successful candidates will be paid in line with August 2025 HSE revised consolidated pay scale, point 1 €63,912 to point 9 €75,254 based on working a 35 hour week.
