Offaly (Hybrid working may be available after 12 weeks of employment) Tenure: Permanent (Full-time) The Technical Officer works as part of a multi-disciplinary team within the Properties and Facilities Department. Reporting to the Head of Properties and Facilities the Technical Officer provides technical services including the preparation of drawings, surveying of new and existing property stock, the inspection of active construction sites, inspection of existing property stock, ensuring compliance with building regulations and undertakes the role of Energy Performance Officer for the organization. The successful candidates must be able to demonstrate the following: · Relevant recognised Third Level Qualification. · Alternative relevant professional qualification at this level. · Further education and courses specific to the duties of the role desirable. · Essential: Have at least 5+ Years experience in a relevant technical post. · Experience of working in a construction/refurbishment role. · Experience of Energy management and familiar with the M&R system. · Relevant experience in a similar environment an advantage · Experience of working with local authorities, developers, AHBs, an advantage. · Has worked on preparing detailed drawings, pricing documents and specifications. · Experience in project management of construction / refurbishments works · Experience of climate action and energy management within an organisation. · Broad experience in the field of facilities, property, maintenance, fire safety and health & safety would be very helpful. · Knowledge of Building Regulations and Construction Standards. · Understanding of Landlord and Tenant Obligations & tenancy legislation/regulation. · Have a thorough knowledge and capability in the use of AutoCAD and Microsoft software packages. · Good knowledge and proficiency in of ICT systems to be applied in this field of work and extremely comfortable in use of ICT systems. · Strong ethos in line with the core values of the Muiríosa Foundation. · Ability to work flexibly on own initiative and as part of a team. · Demonstrate ability to organise, prioritise and manage a complex and varied workload and meet deadlines and targets. · Ability to communicate and interact in a professional, diplomatic and sensitive manner. · Ability to prioritise tasks/objectives with effective time management. · Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – written and verbal. · Strong organisational and accuracy skills with excellent attention to detail. · Maintain a calm and controlled style across all situations. · Constantly seeks improvements in the work role – systems, processes. · Takes ownership of the role and liaises appropriately with colleagues.
