CORLANN –WEST REGION POSTS: Permanent Part-Time Social Care Workers CURLEW ADULT SERVICES (Boyle & Frenchpark areas) Job Ref : 95957 A panel may be formed as a result of this campaign from which current and future, permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full or part-time duration may be filled. Locum Social Care Worker roles are also available. Curlew Adult Services (Boyle & Frenchpark Areas). Staff allocation could be either within residential/respite/day settings or in community services or in an individual’s own home. The appointee will initially commence working in one particular area of the Curlew services and this work location may change due to future service needs. The Role: Social Care Workers fulfil a key worker supportive and advocative role for adults supported by the service in all aspects of their lives, focusing on each individual’s ability and promoting independence and development of skills at all times. The Social Care Worker will assist people with the development of person-centred plans and critically, will support people to make informed choices and fulfil their potential. They will encourage participation in the community through inclusive and creative thinking, seek opportunities for new experiences and encourage positive risk taking in leading to informed choices. Eligibility Criteria/Statutory Registration, Professional Qualifications, Experience Social Care worker candidates must be registered with CORU or have their application submitted. Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition: (i) Be registered, or be eligible for registration, on the Social Care Workers Register maintained by the Social Care Workers Registration Board at CORU. CORLANN –WEST REGION POST: PERMANENT PART-TIME SENIOR COMMUNITY FACILITATOR Strokestown Adult Services – (Strokestown, Elphin, Tulsk, Ballinagare & Ballaghaderreen areas) Ref: 95953 A panel may be formed as a result of this process from which subsequent Senior Community Facilitator Appointments within the Cruachan Services will be made over the next 6 months. Location: Assignment to Cruachan Services, initially based in the Strokestown/Tulsk area. Future developments within the services may require that you are prepared to transfer to other work locations as the service needs demand. The Role: This is a direct support/front line role providing support to an individual with Intellectual Disability, Autism and Complex Behaviours. The successful candidate will take a lead role with the implementation of the Behaviour Support Plan and leading the team to deliver a quality-based service. This will involve supporting the Individual during behaviours of distress. This role includes working as a key worker to support and advocate for the individual supported by the service. The role is to support the person in all aspects of their life focusing on the individual’s ability while promoting independence and development of skills. The role will assist and support the individual, with the development of their person centred plan, the achievement of associated outcomes, to live a meaningful life and fulfil their potential. CORLANN – WEST REGION PERMANENT PART-TIME SUPPORT WORKER EARLY CHILDHOOD SERVICES, ROSCOMMON COUNTY JOB REF: 95685 A panel may be formed as a result of this process from which subsequent Support Worker appointments within the Early Childhood Services, Roscommon will be made over the next 6 months. Location Assignment to the Early Childhood Services initially based in Frenchpark, Co Roscommon. The successful candidate will initially be assigned to working in one particular area of the service; however, the work location may change depending on service needs. The Role: Support Workers provide a key-working supportive role to children. This role comprises of two main elements. Firstly the Support Worker is responsible for all aspects of personal care required by the individual child. This includes supporting children with their meals, personal hygiene and other related aspects of physical well-being, to the extent required by the individual. Secondly, a major focus of the Support Worker role is to assist and support the child through the development of Individual Plan’s and the achievement of associated outcomes, and critically, to support children in participating in the ordinary everyday life of the community through inclusive and creative thinking.
