Maintenance Technician Job Overview Norbrook Laboratories Ltd is seeking to recruit a multi-skilled Shift Maintenance Technician based within our Maintenance Department the successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out day to day electrical and mechanical maintenance within a manufacturing facility comprising of both preventive and reactive duties. The candidate is a critical member of Central Services Maintenance team and will take the lead role in maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing machinery forming part of our pharmaceutical manufacturing plant. The individual must also be willing to perform maintenance tasks for production output support as part of a team. Main Activities/Tasks • Rectify and support electrical and mechanical breakdowns efficiently and effectively • Communicate, record any changes, relevant information fully to other personnel and complete maintenance documentation. • Work as an integral part of an engineering team. • Take reasonable care for the health and safety of self and others, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations. • To carry out routine/preventative and reactive maintenance on electrical and mechanical components of the plant and equipment in a safe and efficient manner. • Ensure that all works are carried out to a high standard as expected on a pharmaceutical plant. • Ensure all H&S (Health and Safety) procedures are adhered to including Permit to Work, always Comply with Norbrook’s LOTO system. • Comply with Health & Safety requirements: as per training, policies, procedures, risk assessments, method statements, safe systems of work etc. • Report any H&S issues/accidents/near misses to your line manager immediately. • Attend training as required to maintain personal qualification/competence. • Comply with the Company Equal Opportunities Policy and promote equality. • Any other duties as required by line management, commensurate with the post holder’s level of training and competence. • Create maintain & enhance effective working relationships with key stakeholders. • Any other duties as deemed necessary Essential Criteria: • Completed apprenticeship in Electrical or mechanical discipline within a manufacturing industry; • BTEC ONC qualification (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline; • A minimum of 3 years relevant experience in a manufacturing environment; • Experience in carrying out electrical and mechanical fault finding and planned maintenance; • Logical and well organised approach to problem solving; • Ability to deliver in a fast-paced environment, to operate under time pressure; • Ability to work as part of a team or unsupervised; Desirable Criteria: • BTEC HNC/HND qualification in an engineering discipline; • Previous Pharmaceutical Experience or working within regulate environments • Knowledge of control systems within automated equipment; Duration: Full Time, Permanent Location: Monaghan Additional Information: • Applicants should be able to provide proof that they have a right to work in Ireland at the time of their application. The purpose of this role is to operate as part of our expanding team in the production of precast concrete products in accordance with Company standards and targets, adhering to the daily production plan e.g., preparing moulds, pouring concrete, producing all planned products, carrying out tasks effectively and meeting health and safety standards. As part of our growing team, you will be contributing to the construction Industry and also award-winning Coastal Protection, Road and Rail projects across the UK and Ireland. Hours of work: Hours will be variable between 32-48 hours per week as needed. Standard hours of work will be Monday – Friday 06:00am – 15:00pm, 07:00 – 16:00pm or 08:00am – 17:00pm, however flexibility to work overtime and/or Saturdays as necessary is essential. To maintain adherence to the daily production plan e.g., moulds prepared, all planned products produced, tasks being carried out efficiently etc. To participate in any training as agreed per the plan. To communicate daily with the Team Leader on progress. To complete all daily required production records e.g., Timesheets. To achieve an acceptable level of housekeeping. To participate in continue improvement and problem-solving initiative. Ability to work flexibly within the Production department and work within any area required. Essential Criteria: NVQ Level 3 in Construction or similar. And/or 3 years’ experience in reading drawings and pour setups.. Work experience in construction or civil engineering related projects. The ability to read technical/construction drawings. Understanding of Health & Safety at work. Good Communication and teamwork experience. Willing to clean and maintain work area. An understanding of both written and spoken English. Desirable Criteria: (The following skills would be an advantage) Experience with hand/air and power tools.
