GALWAY Ref: 101412 DESCRIPTION AND VISION OF CORLANN Corlann West Region provide a community based, person centred service focusing on the needs and abilities of children and adults with intellectual disabilities. The vision of Corlann is to support people with intellectual disabilities to achieve a full and valued life in their community, in line with best practice both nationally and internationally. Working in partnership with each person supported by Corlann, we aim to create opportunities for people supported by Corlann to have ordinary life experiences and to be closely connected to family and friends. We are committed to supporting people to live a life of their choosing. Orchard Adult Services provide a range of community-based servicesincluding day, residential, respite, community outreach, family support and a range of multidisciplinary support services. People are supported in day centres, supported employment, social and micro enterprises, training and education and these can be in groups or individualised. People are supported in residential settings in their own homes in the community individually and in groups. We wish to create opportunities for people who use our services to have valued social roles in their communities and to form friendships. Galway) The Role: The Senior Instructor/Supervisor will report to, and work alongside, the Team Leader, and will fulfil a key worker role for individuals identified. The Senior Instructor/Supervisor will also be expected to stand in for the Team Leader in their absence, and be capable of assuming the role of senior person on duty when required, offering a point of contact, advice and support for the wider Orchard Services if necessary. The successful candidate will initially be assigned to work within a specific Orchard Day Service; however, this work location may change depending on service needs. Reporting/Responsible to: Team Manager / Service Coordinator / Area Manager Location. CORLANN – WEST REGION POST OF 2 PERMANENT FULL-TIME AND 3 X PERMANENT PART -TIME INSTRUCTOR/SUPERVISOR ORCHARD SERVICES, GORT, CO. GALWAY JOB REF: 101399 The Role: The successful candidates will be involved in the development of a day service provision in Gort, County Galway. The successful candidate will also be involved in the implementation of an educational, social, vocational, recreational and personal development programme for adults with an intellectual disability. In line with new directions and extended opening hours the successful candidates will also be responsible for providing family support, coordinating social groups and evening activities and providing one to one supports in the community as required. The successful candidates will also have responsibility in a key worker role for the people supported by the services to form links and interests and partnerships with other community groups. This role will involve working with adults with Autism and complex needs. The instructor will be responsible in supporting individuals with all aspects of personal care required during the day. This includes support with meals, personal hygiene and other related aspects of physical well-being, to the extent required by the individual. Reporting/Responsible To: Team Leader/Team Manager/Service Coordinator/Area Manager Works With: People supported by the services and their families Multidisciplinary Team Team Leader / Team Manager/Service Coordinator / Area Manager Frontline staff GRETB Tutors. Qualifications/Experience/Skills: · Candidates require a level 6 qualification relevant to the health sector. · Candidates must have a minimum of 1 years’ experience working in ID Services. Experience working in day services, designing and implementing programmes to enable them to carry out successfully the duties of the post together with an appreciation of the needs of persons with an intellectual disability. Experience in establishing links with the community and micro enterprises is also an advantage. · A full clean manual Irish Driver’s Licence is essential. · Fluency in verbal and written English is an essential requirement of this post. · Candidates must be able to demonstrate flexibility, communication and team-working skills, together with an enthusiasm for the post. Working Hours: 2 x Permanent Full-Time 78 hours a fortnight 3 x Permanent Part Time 70 hours a fortnight 78 hours per fortnight based on a 5-day week duty roster.
