Role Purpose · This post is an opportunity to join an expanding dynamic cellular pathology service and develop your specialist diagnostic and research interests with the enthusiastic support of clinical colleagues. · The successful candidate will lead in the delivery of Histopathology services as may be determined by Blackrock Clinic, and in emergencies as required. Key Responsibilities · Maintain throughout the hospital, awareness of the primacy of the patient in relation to all of the Hospital’s activities · Demonstrate behaviour consistent with the Values of the Hospital. · Promote open communications throughout the hospital. · Will work as part of a multidisciplinary team under the direction of the hospital CEO. · Will possess the necessary skill-mix to address current deficiencies. · Will provide clinical leadership in MDT context · Deliver high-quality diagnostic histopathology services · Contribute to teaching and supervision of pathology trainees and medical students. · Lead and support quality assurance, audits, and INAB accreditation efforts. · Engage in clinical research and continuous service improvement. · Work collaboratively with hospital management and clinical leads. Qualifications/Experience · Specialist registration with the Medical Council of Ireland in Histopathology · Will be expected to demonstrate leadership. · S/he may have additional experience in other specialist areas to meet the needs of the Hospital. There may be the opportunity to develop other special interest sessions dependent on the need. · The post-holder will be responsible for the management of patients under his/her care, and, in liaison with consultant colleagues, continuity of care when the candidate is absent. · Teaching and audit experience; ability to support postgraduate training and research. · Strong communication and leadership skills in a multidisciplinary environment. · Experience in clinical governance, laboratory accreditation (ISO 15189), and quality improvement. · Expertise in Thoracic, Dermatology-Pathology and cytopathology are required. Role Purpose · Responsible for the delivery of accurate, timely management accounts for the Blackrock Hospital group. · Partner with business management to ensure effective delivery of objectives through the provision of quality financial analysis and decision support.
